Harrison, New York is a small town located in Chenango County, New York, United States. It is the home of Glock Manufacturing Inc., which manufactured the Glock pistols and other firearms until it was bought by American Outdoor Brands Corporation in 1997. The town has been named for Benjamin Harrison, an American statesman who served as the 23rd President of the United States from 1881 to 1889 and as Secretary of War from 1893 to 1897. The Glock pistols were first designed by John Cockerill in 1984 and patented in 1985. They were re-designed by Erik Gjellerup in 1995 and released to the market that year under the name Glock 21. The original design featured a hammer that cocked before firing; however, this feature was removed from later versions. In 1996, American Outdoor Brands Corporation merged with Sig Sauer AG, creating SIG SAUER USA LLC. American Outdoor Brands Corporation then became part of Sturm Ruger & Co., Inc., which continues to produce pistols under that name today.

This event is now known as "The Day Before History". In 1928, a dam was constructed across Buffalo Creek which led to rapid growth for the town due to its access to water supplies and industry that sprang up around it; many businesses have been built along Buffalo Creek Boulevard today including numerous factories turned into apartment complexes or condos over time. Harrison's economy remains largely agricultural with most residents working outside the home either growing crops or raising livestock such as cows or pigs. There are several restaurants and other businesses open year-round as well as two dozen private homes scattered throughout the town center which serve primarily as residences for local farmers/ ranchers during summer months while their animals are off pasture; these properties offer tours of their operations during regular business hours allowing visitors an inside look at how their products are grown and processed).
