Laser sighting devices have been used by the military and law enforcement for over 50 years. Laser sights, also called laser rangefinders, are devices that use lasers to sight objects in a three-dimensional space. This weapon system was known as “Stalker” and it was operated by soldiers using control gloves while seated inside their vehicle using hand signals transmitted through voice activated headsets. In 1985, U.S Army General Dynamics developed what is now known as “PointingStar” which was designed specifically for target acquisition with Lasers from an optically stabilized camera mounted above or below ground along with an IR illuminator providing aiming points for precision fire during Operations Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom campaigns across coalition countries including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. PointingStar has since been adopted by many armies around the world including NATO member nations such as Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany Italy Norway Russia etc., Asymmetric Warfare Forces such as Special Operations Command America (USSOCOM), Australian Defence Force (ADF) Light Tactical Aircraft equipped with Laser Rifles/Scopes etc., Airborne operations echelons such as Special Operations Command Europe -Airborne Commander (OSD Land Forces 2004-2009), Marine Corps Reconnaissance Squadron VX-23 – Aerial Weapons Unit(AWU) aboard amphibious assault ships conducting reconnaissance tasks ashore

Gloversville, New York is a town in Monroe County, New York, United States. The population was 3,827 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from Glover's Creek. The first settlers of what is now Gloversville were Philip Glover and his family who arrived in 1784. In 1813, John Sibley erected the first sawmill in Gloversville and the town started to take off. By 1840, there were six stores and twenty-four dwellings. In 1844, George Fenton built a gristmill on Glover's Creek which became one of the largest in the area. Two years later, Daniel Manning founded a blacksmith shop in Gloversville which became an important center for early stage coach transportation between New York City and Albany. In 1867, Isaac Hecker platted what would become part of Gloversville on land that he had purchased from David Livingston. By 1870, it had grown to encompass all of present-day Monroe County with a population of 1,500 people and over forty businesses including two churches (the First Methodist Church and Christ Episcopal) as well as several stores and residences. The town progressed rapidly during this time with new construction being undertaken on both sides of Glover's Creek including a school house (1868), post office (1872), courthouse (1878), hospital (1901), fire department (1902), movie theater (1905), baseball diamond/pool hall/grill house(1900s) as well as 6000 feet of railroad track running through it making it one of the most developed towns in Monroe County by 1905! During World War I local residents selflessly organized their resources to contribute $770 dollars towards feeding troops stationed at Fort Drum before departing for France on September 12th 1914; they returned home December 11th 1918 having used up all their food supplies! Postwar prosperity followed withGloverstown becoming an important agricultural center until its decline following prohibition in 1920; however some major new developments such as Walmart opening up down the street in 1997 have made it once again an active community!

After the war, thetown declined and its population fell to around 50 residents by 1970. However, it has since revived and has regained its former prominence as a center for commerce and culture.
