In 1784, the area that is now Glens Falls became part of Albany County. The first post office was established in 1785, and the first store was built in 1786. In 1855, the town of Glens Falls was organized from parts of Albany and Saratoga Counties. In 1872, a railroad station was built in Glens Falls. The town incorporated as a village in 1903.
