Garden City is located in Nassau County, New York, and has been a center of gun culture for over a hundred years. The town was founded by Dutch farmers in the mid-19th century, and became a small community with strong firearms traditions. Over the years, Garden City has become home to some of the most famous gun magazines in the world, including National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) preserves and collections. In addition to its role as an important cultural destination, Garden City also hosts annual Gun Shows that are among the largest in the United States. The history of gun magazines begins with NNSF’s first magazine, The Rifleman.founded in 1892 by Adolphus Peacock and George Weiser as an educational journal for riflemen and shotgunners across America. It was during this time that NNSF began developing their now iconic store on Main Street in Garden City which still stands today. Originally designed as a means for shooters to share information and experience together, NNSF quickly became an important resource forgun enthusiasts across America. Garden City is a town in the Southern Tier of New York State. It is southwest of Rochester and southeast of Buffalo. The population was 9,764 at the 2010 census. Garden City was founded in 1825 by Ezra Cornell and others as an agricultural village on the west bank of the Seneca River. In 1832, it became a town, and in 1868, a city. Garden City has been inhabited by Native Americans since before Europeans arrived in this area; their villages were located near what is now Garden City Center. The first Europeans to arrive in this area were Dutch settlers who established a trading post at Fort Orange (later Albany) in 1624. From here they traded with local Indian tribes for goods such as corn, tobacco, hides and other materials necessary for their new colony. Jesuit missionaries also came to Nassau County from Manhattan in 1626–27 to proselytize among the native speakers of these areas; they founded two missions there: Montresor at Westchester County’s eastern border and Noontown on Long Island’s southern tip. In 1716, when General James Clinton moved his army up the Mohawk River valley from Canada into Upstate New York during the French and Indian War, he passed through what is now Garden City on his way southward. The fortification of Albany by General Nicholas de Champlain helped reduce British resistance along that stretch of the frontier; accordingly, many early colonists who had establishement closer to Quebec sailed downriver instead and settled around Albany or built towns inland like Kingston (then part of Burlington County). Families that relocated from Ulster County—home to much of southeastern New York—also chose to settle around Albany because it offered good soil quality for agriculture due to its loess deposits dating back more than 4 million years! By 1800 only about 10 percent of Albany's original settlers still lived there; however many people did move away for various reasons including religious conversion or political change (eager farmers took advantage of high prices for farmland following America's independence from Great Britain). With no major industry developing until after World War II, Farming families gradually vacated central districts like downtown while rural newcomers filled any gaps created by those departing – creating what are today Downtown/Southwest Heights neighborhoods such as Meadowbrook Gardens east-northwest of I-8th Street between Fulton Street and Niagara Falls Avenue NW., Canoga Park north-central between Lenox Road NW./Route 9A & US 6E & Interstate 95W., Ridgewood east-northeast between Roosevelt Roads NE./NW Line Road/I-787&AI9TH Streets SW., Deer Park northwest/southwest just past Route 22 off I-95W.). Nassau County had little need for another township outside its borders given its extensive western edge which stretched almost all the way to Lake Ontario! So when President James Kapp recommended merging portions Of Ulster & Nassau counties into one large county within our current boundaries he likelyANTICIPATED THAT GARDEN CITY WOULD BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO GO!!! When Town Meeting voted 3-1 on January 14th 1870 option 1 was accepted thereby forming “New Netherland”!!!

In 1898, Garden City was incorporated as a city by an act of the New York State Legislature. It attained full municipal status in 1912 when it joined with other cities in the state to form The Bronx County seat. Today, Garden City is a popular tourist destination with attractions such as its art galleries and ancient ruins dating back to before European settlement. The city is also home to several small businesses that have thrived during recession times or during difficultadiator waves like recent years when joblessness has been high in the area."

The Garden City area in central New York was developed as a result of the Erie Canal and the construction of the first major railroad in 1825. The area became known for its tree-lined streets, expensive housing, and fashionable socialites. In 1854, the city annexed parts of Buffalo, including what is now the Garden City neighborhoods of Ridgewood and Northdale. The annexation led to increased development in these areas and by 1870, Garden City had become one of the most extensive cities in upstate New York.
