In 1916, cross-township annexation by Auburn Village further increased its size when it included all but two blocks of present-day downtown Frederonia (the exceptions being blocks Nos. 5-7 which are still part of Auburn Village). In 1978, following a referendum vote by residents on whether or not they wanted a college campus thereon*, Fortis Agricultural College opened its doors on Main Street in downtownFredericia under then-Mayor Robert Liefland's leadership*. Today this campus offers more than 120 degree programs including agriculture* programs as well as law/business administration*, health care technology/administration*, engineering*, architecture* and more*. As early as 1824 local farmers had begun growing hopskins (a type of hop) near where Fortis Agricultural College currently stands since this location seemed ideal for growing these plants because it offered good soil drainage and moderate temperatures year round*. By 1840 hopskins had become an important crop here due to their high quality flavor profile which led some brewers to try brewing beer from them *. By 1870 almost all brewers in New York City were producing hopped beers** so hopping becoming an important aspect of many Central New Yorkers' diets helped contribute *to*/cause* rapid growth for this community during that time period***** Today much like back then* various employers have found ways to use hopskins throughout their production processes from milling them into flour for breadmaking through distilling them into vodka or whiskey etc.* also used extensively in research & development efforts across many industries today!
