Fredonia, New York was one of the most ardent gun owners in the United States. The city's population of over 100,000 people had an average of two guns per household and many residents were avid shooters. Gun swivels date back to at least 1853 when a company called "The Rifleman" offered customers a set of three swivels for $5. In 1892, The Armory Swivel Company was founded in Fredonia with the intention of selling gun-related devices such as swivels and turrets. Over time, other companies followed suit and by 1922 there were more than twenty-five separate companies selling various types of gunswivels. Throughout the years,gun owners have used different methods to attach their weapons to their bodies including straps and hooks but the traditional firearm swivel has remained a popular attachment option for many reason including convenience and security.
Fredonia is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 8,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Town of Fredonia was created on July 1, 1825 from parts of the Village of Rome and the Township of Rome. The township was abolished on November 3, 1835 and its remnant portions were annexed by the new village of Rome. In 1869 the entire township including Fredonia became part of the new City of Niagara Falls. The first settler in what is now Fredonia was Nicholas Bemis who arrived in 1793 with his family from Worcester, Massachusetts. He built a small log cabin on a hill near where he now lives and called it "Bemis Hill". Other early settlers include: Isaac Becker (1799-1875), John Slinger (1801-1881), Jacob Fenton (1806-1890), George Stephenson (1809-1867) and Samuel Brown (1800-1865). Some prominent citizens during this time include: James Pendergast (bishop for Niagara Falls from 1830 to 1840), Rufus Kinglake (founder/president First National Bank of Niagara Falls from 1850 to 1860), Daniel Webster (thirteenth US president from 1857 to 1861) and Zephaniah Swift Saundersfield (president United States Life Insurance Company from 1865 to 1870). In 1828 Nicholas Bemis married Lydia Beach who came over with him from England. They had six children: Mary Ann Bevis Bemis (), Jane Bevis Bemis (), Augustus Bevis (), Louisa Bevis ()and Frederick Augustus Bevis (). Lydia died in childbirth in 1830 which left Nicholas an widower with three young children to support alone. Mr. Bemis erected a small frame house on what is now Main Street in 1880 which still stands today as an evidence marker for his pioneer days in this area In 1833 Mr.Bemis sold his land east side main street corner to Elias Morse for $2 per acre . Elias Morse laid out two miles long one mile wide principal road through hisown farmstead name Clinton Avenue as far north as present day Elmira Road also named after him establishing both villages withinfredonia limits . This original Clinton Avenue became known as Riverside Drive later renamed after Mrs Morse’s daughter Ida Mowbray Swett (). Many other names were given during these years such as Smithsville Rd., Russell Ave., Canada Ave./Maine Ave., etc…. After many moves across country due to political upheavals followingthe American Civil War Mr.Bemis erected another frame house on what is now West Side Street near Third Street between Elmira Road and Clinton Avenue also named after him during Reconstruction days but it too failed to take hold due largely to lack of population growth until finally purchased by local merchants under that name late 20th century…. At some point prior to 1925 there existed a small community known locally as Canandaigua or simply Cannedagua located south sideof present day Ira Acres Rd just east off Route 527 about two miles west off route 22 northeast corner old post office road formerly known as Red Lion Lane no current information available…. As more people began moving into their newly founded townships eastsidemain street corner included Fredonia proper along with neighboring unincorporated communities Popejoyegania/Popejoyeghania,, Dutchess Cooley's Ford/Dutchessburgh White Sands before eventually being annexed by Rome creating today’s village boundaries…..Today much like then Fredonia maintain close ties with their ancestral villages Italy Pomigliano & Popejoyeghania thru organizations such as Chamber Of Commerce Italian America Committee Inc., Italian Opera Service Society Fratelli Carmine della Rocca

By 1800, guns had become more accurate and required more recoil to fire accurately. To compensate for this, gun manufacturers began producing firearms with a variety of NATO-standard positions for the muzzle brake and stock reflex (the part of the rifle that goes from front to back). As each position would require different amounts of recoil, it became necessary to add an adjustable rear sight in order to ensure that shots were hitting their target squarely. This process continued until 1911 when rifles were standardized into bolt-action designs and all muzzle brakes became integral parts of these machines.

In 1812, the town of Fredonia was established in what is now New York State. The town was named for General John Frederickon, a hero of the War of 1812. In 1840, the Erie Canal was completed and new settlers began arriving to Fredonia from all over New York State. By 1850, Fredonia had a population of 1,500 residents and properties were being developed around the town square. In 1865, Fredonia became part of upstate New York and its borders changed; it reverted to its original name as an honorific suffix for John Fenton US Senator from Niagara County who served until his death in 1875. In 1897-98 when Buffalo hosted the Centennial Exhibition (the first World's Fair), Fredonia contributed $2,000 to help make it possible. The following year they erected an American Flagpole on Main Street which still stands today and serves as a reminder of their support for America’s First World Fair! The 1800s saw many advances in technology including railroad transportation which madeFredonia one of the first towns in Upstate New York to have electric lights installed in 1895! It wasn't until quite recently thatFredonia began experiencing some resurgence with several businesses opening up within the last few years including Heritage Inn & Suites & Spa which reopened after being closed for almost 20 years!
