The first gun light was invented by George Washington in 1795. The first commercially successful handgun, the Colt Pistol, was designed in 1836. In 1932, the New York State Legislature passed a bill that made it illegal to use a flashlight while driving or operating any motor vehicle without an approved headlight. Fredonia was founded in 1824 by Obadiah Smith and his wife Judith. The first store on the original site was opened in 1831. In 1836, the town became a village, and in 1850 it became a town. Fredonia lost its status as a town in 1908, but regained it in 1916 when it merged with Canandaigua to form the new city of Syracuse.

In 1846, Frederick Augustus Dodge bought 640 acres (240 hectares) of land east of present-day State Street from Jeremiah Dixon for $2,500 dollars cash considerations only - a purchase that signaled Dodge's intentions to make Fredonia an agricultural center for Buffalo Niagara Falls as well as provide employment opportunities for local farmers during Reconstruction times following the American Civil War. In 1865–66 when Buffalo City Council changed hands four times during Reconstruction period due to political maneuvering within Buffalo city limits - including one where Dodge purchased more than half of all votes - Dodge's purchases became less likely because he didn't have direct control over municipal government then than he does now given that Erie County was divided into two counties at that time: Wyoming (north) and Ontario (south). However,odge continued to support Buffalo City Council through donations until his death on October 10th 1966 at age eighty-four years old which left an endowed trust fund which still supports City Council functions today known as "Dodge Community Foundation". Today Fredonia remains an agricultural center with many small businesses catering to its needs such as grocery stores, dairies/milkshops and other agriculture related businesses; however; it has also become home to some high technology companies such as Envision Technologies Inc., based off of Niagara Falls Boulevard East near Interstate 785 northbound Exit 106B (New York State Route 422), since 1997 this major transportation artery connecting Rochester Hills with Syracuse NY has been known locally simply as "I-684" or just "684" due to lack of clarification from either side about what highway number actually refers to

These early guns lights were very crude and did not provide much illumination other than their own use. In 1847, French inventor Etienne Dumoulin produced what is considered to be the world’s first true gun light – an 8x18mm flamethrower powered by a gas engine. This weapon was able to emit powerful flashes of light from its small aperture at a distance of up to 100 meters (328 feet). However, this type of weapon was not practical for combat due to its high recoil and large size. In 1892, American inventor George Washington Dixon developed and patented the first handgun-powered gunlight – also called a “Spot Light Rifle Gun Light” or “GUNLIGHT”. This device functioned like a regular flashlight but had an extra battery capable of providing up to 30 hours Of continuous use. The GUNLIGHT became popular among soldiers during World War I because it allowed themTo better see in darkness while firing their rifles. From this choice by refugees comes our own understanding that liberty is not only an individual right but something that must be shared unanimously! After two centuries of hard work by many residents, Fredonia has experienced great growth since becoming a city in 1916 – adding more than 2 million residents over that time!
