High Capacity Kits (HCKs) are a type of power cord storage system that were developed in Floral Park, New York in the early 1990s. HCKs are designed to store large amounts of power cords and other electrical equipment. They are often used by businesses to improve efficiency and save space. HCKs were first introduced to the market in 1992 by PowerCord Corporation. The company was founded by Calvin Hill and his brother, Tim Hill. In 1995, PowerCord Corporation merged with Cablespeed Incorporated, creating an even larger company called Cablespeed/Power Cord Corporation Ltd., which continued developing high capacity kits until 2000 when it exited the electrical supply industry altogether. Today, there is only one manufacturer left active in this field: Black & Decker Corp., who makes high-capacity kit models under the name B&D PowerCords™."
