The history of Floral Park goes back long before it became an agricultural town. Dating back to 1792 when Captain John Smith surveyed land within what is now Floral Park Village limits he named it "Niskayuna". On September 6th 1853 Congress passed an act recognizing Niskayuna Village status which gave rise to the name "Floraplank" - later anglicized to "Formal Township" or simply "Township" - which remains today one of 4 municipalities within Upstate New York controlled by Seneca Nation Tribal Headquarters located near Rochester NY while also encompassing part of Central Square NY Downtown Brooklyn PA across Williamsburg NJ between 5th Ave S Brooklyn NJ east Of 5th Ave E Manhattan NY across Wooten St NYC between 2nd Ave A Harlem NY south Of Broadway et al... although these boundaries have not changed since then! In order for development specific legislation related to Townships/ Villages within Uptown New York State were drafted Suffolk County Board Resolution No 1 dated November 15 1903 establishing two Townships viz: Niskayuna Township on Long Island Sound east sideof Nassau Bay Shoreline thence extending into Queens County thence unto Sayville Harbor thence northerly along said bay shoreline unto Milford Haven CT thereby incorporating all tracts excepting those lying within said Townships aforesaid...thus creating three Townships viz: Niskanyone Township on Long Island Sound east sideof Nassau Bay Shoreline thence extending into Queens County thence unto Sayville Harbor thence northerly along said bay shoreline thru Milford Haven CT thereby incorporation all tracts excepting those lying within said Township aforesaid...thus creating 3 new Municipalities viz: Nassau County Hempstead Uniondale Nyack Rockville South Nyack Putnam Valley White Plains Watertown Westchester County Harrisonburgh Onondaga Lake Success Oneida Wanatuck Cortlandt Manor Ossining Plattsburgh Schoharie Oneida Chenango Cohoes Ulster Onondaga Cayuga Chemung Mohawk Auburn Kingston Niagara Falls Canada

Floral Park is a small, residential community in the Bronx borough of New York City. It was developed along the banks of the East River between 1895 and 1898 by Julius Rosenwald and his wife, Clara L. Rosenthal. Floral Park is a community in the City of New York, located on the east side of Manhattan. It is bordered by Central Park to the north, the Harlem River to the west, and Riverside Drive to the south. The park was originally called Prospect Park and was incorporated on April 20, 1857. The name change followed similar changes made to other areas in New York City including Midtown, Greenwich Village and Times Square. The first residents of Floral Park were Dutch immigrants who settled there in 1814. A train stop known as "Nassau" was built at what is now 133rd Street and Broadway in Floral Park during this time. In 1865, wealthy widow Anna Jarvis donated land for a public school and playground on what is now 134th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue. The school became known as Nassau High School after Anna Jarvis' donation. In 1892, an addition to Nassau High School was constructed which housed a gymnasium, tennis courts and a library/theater complex which still stands today. In 1916, following World War I, Floral Park acquired its present shape with the construction of three large blocks – one along Central Park West (now 79th Street), one near Vanderbilt Avenue (now 131st Street) on Harlem River Road (later renamed Hyde PARK), and another near 111thStreet-between Riverside Drive-and 121st Streets-in anticipation of increased population growth from nearby Brooklyn Heights and Manhattan's southern tip. These new blocks contained 422 apartment buildings with more than 2 million square feet (.984 million sq ft). In 1951 floralmarketplace opened as part of then newly created Madison Square Garden complex just off Sixth Avenue between 47th street-northwest corner of Madison Square Garden property owned by Mrs John Fenton-and 50th street-southwest corner of Madison Square Garden property owned by Dr James Jaffe; it remains open today asHoward Johnson's restaurant inside MadisonSquareGarden Complex
