Endicott, New York is a small town in western New York. It is located on the south side of Lake Ontario, about 15 miles east of Buffalo and 25 miles west of Rochester. Endicott is known for its apple orchards and post office, which opened in 1837. The population was 7,640 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Endicott was Nicholas Crane who moved to the area in 1790. He built a log cabin on an island in what is now Endicott Harbor. In 1812, John Morse founded Morse's Store and became the first owner of land within present-day Endicott Township.Morse renamed his store "EndicOTT" after his hometown of Hartford, Connecticut (now East Hartford). The name stuck and has been used by descendants of John Morse ever since. In 1836, George Washington Carver established Carver's Farm near present-day Main Street and Post Road in what is now part of Carver Park northeast of Endicott Center (the original village site). When he sold his farm to Abraham Van Nostrand for $4 per acre in 1885, it was the largest piece of private land traded across New York state that went unowned until it was purchased by the State government from Van Nostrand family heirs in 1935 as part of Niagara Falls State Parklands

Endicott is a small town in Allegany County, New York, United States. The population was 1,547 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that now Endicott was first settled by the Iroquois people in 1624 and named for Nicholas Endicott, an Englishman who had come to North America as part of the Albany Expedition of 1624. In 1814, Scottish-born Major General John Armstrong founded what became Armstrong's Factory on what is now Main Street. When Fort Erie was built on the Niagara River in 1825, Armstrong's Factory became its garrison and ended up with a permanent civilian population of about 100 people. In 1828, George Stephenson began construction on the Erie Canal and recommended that Endicott be included within it because it would provide easy access to goods brought overland from Western Canada and Ontario. The town got its start as a canaltown when landowner Isaac Watts donated 7 acres (2 ha) north of present-day Main Street for canal purposes. By 1830, there were 240 residents living in Endicott; by 1840, there were 651 residents living in Endicott proper and 255 residents living in rural areas around it including Scranton and Pittston (now Shippensburg). It wasn't until 1861 that the first public school opened in EndicOTT when an act passed by Congress made education mandatory for all white citizens between ages 5 and 24 months old starting on July 1st of each year thereafter; this was followed by passage of other similar legislation making education available to black Americans as well once they reached age 22 or 3 years old depending upon their place of birth on February 14th annually. Despite these early efforts at educational reform—and due largely to streetcars running through town during those years)—the schools lack textbooks or any other instructional materials today which limits enrollment opportunities for many students beyond grade school levels even though most adults can still name several items from memory related to local history such as major league baseball players like Harry Wright or Babe Ruth who played their entire careers here before leaving after reaching their 30s/40s (or later). The town of Endicott is located in the easternmost corner of New York State. It was founded on December 12, 1768, by Colonel Nathaniel P. Woodbury and his wife Deborah. The town was named after the English village of Enrico Lascaris, which had been destroyed by a fire in 1666. Endicott became an incorporated town on January 1, 1852.
