Endicott is a town in Otsego County, New York, United States. The population was 9,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse-New Rochelle-Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Endicott is northwest of Syracuse and east of Ithaca. The Town of Endicott was first settled in 1795 by Loyalist colonists from Connecticut who had fled during the American Revolution. The name "Endicott" derived from an English place name meaning "the end". In 1809, the town became a part of New York State as a result of the Treaty of Trianon which ended the war between Great Britain and Russia. In 1825, James Aiken founded what would become known as Aiken's Mills complex on his farmstead east of Endicott village center. This mill complex consisted of three buildings: Aiken's Mill (now called First National Bank Building), Aiken's Store (now called Peet House), and Aiken's Chapel (later renamed Hope Chapel). Factory production began in 1826 under direction of Caleb Cushing with raw cotton being spun into cloth at this time using power driven Burrweiler looms before becoming automated in 1934 by George Romney & Sons Ltd.. In 1860, Charles Bickford purchased land northeast of Endicott Village that he would develop into what is now Pioneer Square Park. Prior to its creation, this area comprised much emptier farmland that bordered on Weedsmith Lake to the south and Onondaga Creek to the north; today it comprises much more dense development including several million square feet (100 hectares) worth or office and residential space located within walking or biking distance for most residents. The park saw immense growth following World War II when many factory jobs relocated to nearby Buffalo while new housing developments developed along Interstate 785 which bisected EndicOTT village then paralleled Route 12 until its current routing due east towards Syracuse resulted in significant loss in open space; however Pioneer Square has since seen significant redevelopment encompassing both commercial and residential uses including several large universities such as Cornell University and SUNY Cortland which have leased portions or outright ownership in various buildings within Pioneer Square Park dating back to at least 1907 when Benjamin Latrobe donated land for Hospital Hill School District #2 which later became SUNY Upstate Medical Center Accordingly it should come as no surprise that many well-known brands have been headquartered or operations are conducted within Pioneer Square Park over time such as Apple Inc., PepsiCo., Motorola Solutions Inc., IBM Corporation, Lowe's Home Improvement Co., Sears Holdings Corporation etc.; additionally there are numerous restaurants/cafes/bars situated throughout downtown EndicottiVillage making it one helluva local spot!

Endicott, New York is a small town in the Niagara Falls region of central New York, United States. The population was 5,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Erie County metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Endicott was Nicholas Soo, who arrived on July 12, 1795 with his family from Connecticut. The Soos were among the earliest settlers in what would become Erie County and named their home "New Hope." In 1814 Nicholas Soo's grandson, John Soo, erected a log cabin on Wappingers Creek which served as the nucleus for what would become today's downtown Endicott. In 1822 Samuel Morse opened a store at Main and Clinton Streets in what would later become downtown Endicott; this was followed by others including A. B. Fenton & Son (1830-1915) who operated an inn and grocery store at 2 Front Street until 1915 when it burned down; also in 1830-35 there was the First Methodist Episcopal Church built on Plainfield Road east of present day Main Street - still standing today. The first public school in EndicOTT was erected towards the end of 1825 by Revd Drayson & Mr Whitehead under direction of then Superintendent Ebenezer Farnsworth (1792-1848). That building became known as "Farnsworth House". On January 6th 1861all male residents over sixteen years old living within one mile of any convenient vote were mustered into service in Company C State rifle regiment during the American Civil War 1861-65 serving under Major General George McClellan and Colonel James McMillan In 1865 all male residents over sixteen years old living within one mile of any convenient vote were mustered into service as farmers to support Reconstruction efforts following Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation On November 8th 1870 all female residents over eighteen years old living within one mile of any convenient vote were registered to vote with proper identification and proceeded to cast ballots for members of various local committees charged with carrying out Reconstruction policies such as providing education, housing assistance, roads and other infrastructure projects
Endicott was founded in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Endicott and General John Sullivan as an agricultural colony. The town was named for Nicholas-Jacques' father, the 1st Viscount of Exeter. In 1801, the town became a county seat and remained so until 1959. The population increased rapidly during the 19th century due to new farming settlements and industry; however, during the 20th century it began to decline as a result of suburbanization, economic recession, and environmental degradation. In 2000, Endicott had a population of 7,869.
