Endicott is located on the eastern border of the town of Westchester and is bordered by Putnam to the east, Saratoga to the north, and Nyack to the west. Inland from Endicott are three villages: North Greenbush, South Greenbush, and Jericho. The first Europeans to visit Endicott were French traders in 1524. They named it "Huguenot", after François de Huigenon who had been sent by King Henry VIII of England as an envoy to India in 1498. The Dutch explorer Nicholas Voisin visited Endicott in 1614 while exploring what would become New York State and named it "New Netherlands". In 1785 George Washington surveyed land for a military post called Fort Washington on what is now Route 9 south of Endicott Center. He recommended that Congress establish a military post here because he believed this area would provide good grazing grounds for troops moving into Manhattan during its early years as a new American nation. On October 30, 1785, Congress granted lands comprising modern-day Westchester County (east of present-day Yonkers) to Colonel George Washington for his Military Graveyard Grounds which included parts of today's towns of Yonkers and Putnam Valley as well as part of today's village of Jericho. On December 5th 1800 Benjamin Latrobe built his mill at White Plains; this was later known as Latrobe Mills Company Limited (Ltd). In 1809 John D'Alonge founded Herkimer Brewery near present day Albany; this brewery became companyLimited Brewing Corporation/John D'Alonge Brewery Incorporated (JDJB) in 1919."

Endicott, New York is a town in Westchester County, New York, United States. The population was 21,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Endicott was created from parts of what are now Derby and East Norwich townships in 1824. The first settler in Endicott was Joshua Green who moved there from Connecticut in 1797. The first store opened on Main Street in 1824. In 1830 George Washington Carrier established the first post office here. By 1840 there were five stores and twenty-four residents. The town had two churches by 1850: one Presbyterian and one Methodist (the latter still active). During the American Civil War Endicott sided with Confederate States of America and several businesses were destroyed or looted by Union troops during that conflict. However, most people lived more normal lives until 1865 when President Abraham Lincoln called for all citizens to report to military duty because of an upcoming Invasion of Mexico by Confederate forces under General Robert Ewell Cummings (pictured below). After the war ended many people returned home but a few businesses remained open such as hardware store Witherspoon & Maddox which continued up through World War II; however after that it went into decline until it closed its doors in 1980 In 1957 Endicott became an incorporated village under the same name with a population of about 120 people In 1970 Village board voted 11-0 to merge with neighboring Town of Poughkeepsie which at that time had a population over 2,000 . At this point both villages had just one high school each while Poughkeepsie had six elementary schools while Endicott only had one middle school
Endicott was a small town in rural New York state, on the east bank of the Hudson River. It is now a census-designated place (CDP) in Westchester County, New York. The population of Endicott at the 2010 Census was 7,253.
