AIF allows forwardshooting by adding magnification onto images coming from around the world instead of just through your own eyes which can improve accuracy when sighting downrange. Dobbs Ferry, New York was a site of gunfights in the American Revolution. The town is located on the border of Westchester County and Orange County. It was one of the key locations for the Battle of Saratoga, which ended the war in 1795.
Dobbs Ferry, New York is a small town located in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The town is named after General John Dobbs, who fought in the American Revolution and later served as a justice of the peace. Dobbs Ferry is one of several townships that make up Fishkill Township. The first permanent settler in what would become Dobbs Ferry was Nicholas Fenton in 1785. He built a cabin on the east side of the stream where he still lives today. A few years later, George Washington stopped by to visit Fenton and his family before leaving for Mount Vernon. In 1800, Daniel Boone came through this area and settled near present-day Arlington Heights on Beaver Creek. By 1824, only about 200 people remained in Dobbs Ferry Village when it was chartered as a village by Albany County commissioners under the name "Fishkill". By 1830, all but 10 residents had left for other settlements around Lake Ontario or elsewhere within Albany County limits. In 1848, Fishkill Township was divided into two sections: One section went to Rome Township while the other section became part of what would become Dobbs Ferry Township. On July 1, 1850, most of Fishkill Township (including Dobbs Ferry) joined Rome Township which enlarged its borders to include all but what are now Batavia and Yonkers Townships in Westchester CountyNY; however some land south of Marengo Road (now Route 22) remained part of Fishkill Township until it became part of Rome Township again on January 1st 1915 In 1875 there were just 12 people living in Fish Kill Village when it merged with Doverfield to form Doverfield-FishKill Incorporation which continued until 1918 when it merged with Clintonburgh Corporation forming Clintonburgh Corporation-Dobbs Ferry Company which continues today as Empire State Development Company The first post office opened in fish kill on April 2nd 1876 It closed on December 6th 1912 due to low mail volume caused by prohibition during prohibition era
