The history of binoculars can be traced back to 1829 when two German immigrants, Johann Friedrich Bede and Wilhelm von Fröhlich, founded a business in Dobbs Ferry. This initial business was called the Büchel & Gräber Optiker Gesellschaft and it sold binoculars and other optical products. In 1830, the company moved to its current location on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry. During the nineteenth century, Binoculars were used by soldiers as field observers during World War I and World War II. After the war, many people began using binoculars for everyday purposes such as watching television or taking photos. In recent years, there has been an increase in demand for high-quality binoculars because of their ability to provide clear images with great detail. Today, Binoculars are still being used by individuals all over the world for a variety of different uses. Dobbs Ferry is a small town in the Catskill Mountains of New York, United States. It is located on the southern bank of the Hudson River. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in Dobbs Ferry were families from Ulster County, New York, who arrived here in 1812. The community was named for John Dobbs, an early settler and one of the original trustees of Union College in Schenectady. Mr. Dobbs died young in 1814 and his widow, Sarah Post, took over management of the school and community plantations until her death in 1830. In 1836 a post office was established at Dobbs Ferry with James Waddell as its first mailer; it continued to be served until 1880. In 1860 George Armstrong Crouse listed Dobbs Ferry as one of his "Three Towns Over Which I Have presided." After this time it became an independent municipality under the jurisdiction of Oneida County until 1974 when it merged with neighboring Oneida Township to form what is now Dobbs Ferry Borough. Dobbs Ferry has a rich history that began with early pioneers who built homes hereabouts in what is today called Pioneer Valley (now Northumberland County). On July 14th 1776 Major General George Washington's army passed through this valley en route to White Plains and defeated British forces at Battlefields throughout Manhattan including Battlefields Purchase which lies just north-east of present day Doubtful Sound on Hwy 139 near Kingston he had marched across from Staten Island less than three weeks earlier! This event helped lay the foundation for both American independence and future Ulysses S Grant's famous Silver Beach victory at Gettysburg two years later! There are several interesting places to visit such as: The Gate House (which dates back to 1792), Sheriff's Office (1813), First Congregational Church (1799), Court House (1837) and much more!

Dobbs Ferry, New York is a small town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Syracuse–Onondaga Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Dobbs Ferry comes from John Dobbs and his son Amos who were merchants on the river. The first permanent settler in what became Dobbs Ferry was Nicholas Moreland in 1771. He and his family built a cabin on the bank of the river where they still live today. early settlers included three brothers named Howland: Peter, James and John Howland who founded the town of Onondaga on Oct 3rd, 1784 while living near present day Scotts Valley. In 1814, General Orson Ewing's forces burned down part of William Hunter's stores at Smithtown Landing so that he could not sell weapons to warring factions in Canada. This caused many people to flee to Dobbs Ferry for safety as hostilities continued elsewhere in America. In 1825, General George Armstrong Custer set out from Buffalo with 5 thousands troops aiming to cross the Canadian River but only managed to reach Fort Erie before returning home without achieving their goals; this event is known as "the last battle" of the American Civil War. After this battle many residents decided to move away from what is now Dobbs Ferry due to different reasons such as lack of jobs or too difficult an commute into Syracuse (then called Auburn). Following World War II much development took place here including new housing developments by developers like Mohawk Homes Corporation and Cardinal Homes which are still extant today within walking distance of each other on Main Street in Dobbs Ferry; these developments are also some of most visible landmarks throughout the community today! In recent years there has been a significant increase in crime rates here with thefts being particularly common among teenagers & young adults who have little else going for them outside of school & work! Despite these issues however new businesses have started up recently such as a hair salon & pizzeria making life more challenging for those living here but it remains one of my favorite places to live overall!
