From then until its acquisition by RJR Nabisco in 1973, Jardine & Co.'s products were distributed through subsidiaries around the world before being phased out altogether under that company's ownership chain. During World War II, Corning played an important role as an suppliers for military needs and also developed innovative technologies for making ammunition and explosives during wartime production lines at their facilities in upstate New York; these include development of plastic explosives containers that allowed governments to produce unlimited amounts of munitions without fear of warhead detonation; as well as development of aluminum alloyed Ammunition Canes which helped make large quantities of high explosive projectiles possible while minimizing civilian casualties caused by unexploded ordnance twenty years later when such munitions were still used extensively throughout many parts of the world despite their dangers! After cessation hostilities ended 1945 however much nonmilitary activity took place at both plants including reorganization/ downsizing several thousand employees over a period lasting several years culminating with closure/merging all but three main product lines into one new entity called "Jardine Corporation". This merger created over 50 divisions across twelve countries before finally failing due to antitrust concerns eventually resulting in bankruptcy four years later!!! What could have been a successful American industrial giant turned into nothing more than ruinous failure??? Definitely not something you want your name associated with!!!

The population grew rapidly in the 20th century and by 1970, it had reached over 100,000 residents. In 2013, the City of New York renamed the borough of Queens to reflect its enlarged boundaries.
