Other brands followed such as Colt 45 (1991), Glock 23 (1994), Ruger 10/22(1998), Smith & Wesson M&P Shield (2001) and SIG Sauer P226 (.223 cal.) Beginning with their first product launch outside North America—the Sig Sauer P225 9mm pistol—Sigler started making pistols available throughout Europe starting in 2003 with the introduction of their new factory plant located near Munich, Germany.). Pistol sales across all regions continued through 2007 when American Outdoor Brands Corporation merged with Springfield Armory Inc., creating what is now Colt Firearms Corp.. As part of this reorganization process, all firearm brands were placed into two divisions: Single Action Army/Featherweight weaponsdivision (SA&W/CW) responsible for revolvers only while revolver operations were transferred to Springfield Armory’s Jim Thorpe division responsible for rifles and shotguns; then finally ammunition products would be placed under Sigma Ammunition Manufacturing Company within Colt Firearms Corp..

The town of Corning was first settled by Germans in 1799. The town's first post office was established on July 12, 1802. The name "Corning" comes from the Erie Canal and the nearby Glendon Hill hill where Alexander Calder designed a water pump to move water from the canal to local residences in 1825. In 1827, John Butterfield founded a ferry service between Corning and Niagara Falls using his paddlewheel boat called "Butterfly". In 1847, James Biddle organized a company that built two sawmills and four gristmills at what is now the corner of Main Street and Elmira Road in central Corning. By 1870, there were fourteen businesses in downtown Corning with over one hundred employees working on seventy-six different products. Over time, much of this production shifted out of town to larger facilities near Buffalo or Syracuse because rail transportation became available for goods coming up the Hudson Valley instead of via canals or rivers as before. During World War II (1939-1945), much of downtown Corning was destroyed by bombing raids but not until after 1945 did it become possible to rebuild completely following guidelines set by New York City Mayor Fiorello La Guardia . During World War II many factories closed down due to lack of wartime demand but reopened once hostilities ended; this occurred especially around Buffalo which had been heavily damaged by bombings during the war years and needed reconstruction which began immediately after Pearl Harbor . The city skyline today has more than doubled since 1945 when it peaked at less than 1,000 residents; however much smaller communities have continued to grow near downtown including Mohawk Valley , Ithaca , Utica , Oneonta and Lockport while other neighborhoods such as Hyde Park (on Lake Ontario) remains largely rural with few if any commercial development
