The history of scopes in Canandaigua, New York dates back to the 1840s. At that time, the area was a part of Westchester County and scopes were used by hunters and farmers for hunting game. In the 1860s, an American telescope company was founded in Canandaigua and its products became popular among farmers and hunters. By the 1870s, there were several optical companies operating in Canandaigua and they started selling telescopes to local residents. By the 1880s, scopes had become so popular that they were being used by scientists across America. In 1892, a new company was established in Canandaigua and it became known as The National Scopes Company. This company continued to produce high-quality scopes until 1925 when it merged with another American optical company. After that point, the production of scopes ceased in Canandaigua until 1970 when a new company began producing telescopes here again. Today, there are numerous companies producing telescopes in Canandaigua which makes it one of the most activity towns for optics research in America.

On July 4, 1828, a group of farmers from Rome petitioned Congress to form a new county seat within Chemung County because they could not find an existing one which met their needs adequately. The vote to create Canandaigua came about as a result; it occupied its present site on December 15th of that year. As smallpox spread throughout New England during the mid-19th century, many English settlers began moving into what is now Canandaigua looking for fertile land to settle. By 1840, there were over 1,100 people living in Canandaiguatownships alone; by 1860 this number had increased to 4,000 with some 830 businesses operating in downtown Canandaiguatownship alone! In 1886–87 an act known as the "Canandaiguan Railroad Act" passed Congress providing for construction of a railroad through upstate New York between Albany and Syracuse – paving the way for larger villages like Canandaiga Gateway (now Rome) to develop postwar into thriving communities! By 1920 there were more than 2,000 people living in downtown Rome while more than 1 thousand businesses provided employment opportunities! Today’s economy derives much of its strength from agriculture – manufacturing has also declined but continues to play an important role via local contractors and other business ventures statewide. Withstood numerous challenges throughout its history including becoming part of Interstate Highway System when I-86 became reality; today’s canadaiga village remains largely rural with few visitors traveling outside its borders due to its excellent public schools and lush green surroundings!

Canandaigua is a town in the town of Ulster, New York, United States. The population was 2,798 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester-Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was first settled by Germans in 1786 and named after Canandaigua River which flows through the town. In 1814, the area was claimed by John Armstrong and named for him. Canandaigua became a separate village in 1825 and was renamed for General James Clinton who fought during the American Revolution as a colonel in the army of George Washington. In 1827, Canandaigua became an incorporated village under the name of Onondaga County when it split from Albany County. The village had a schoolhouse and six stores until it burned down in 1831 and was replaced by a new building that still stands today. The original bank building is also still standing and is used as a community center today. Canandaigua remained an incorporated village until 1956 when it became part of Monroe Township because that’s where its courthouse sat before being moved to Rochester in 1922. After suffering some damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, Monroe Township voted to dissolve itself into three small townships: Ontario, Addisonia, and Canandaigua-Monroe on July 1st 2013 so that more money could be spent on infrastructure projects such as road repairs etc., rather than maintain two villages with no common services or resources between them (Ontario did annex Addisonia after its vote). It took over 10 years for all 3 townships to merge back into one larger municipality with 4 wards (the old township boundaries were still used): Canadanogan-Onondaga/Rochester Township (northwest cornerraboard extending from Round Lake Boulevard to Ontario Line), Cayuga Heights-Onondaga/Rochester Township (southwestern cornerraboard extending from US 6 east to Baldwinsville Road), Lockport-Toronto Township (northeast cornerraboard extending from Canada Line north to Albion Rd.), and Auburn Hills-Auburn Hills Township (southwest cornerraboard extendign from US 6 east to Half Moon Rd.). This gave residents of each township their own police department, library system(s), fire department(s), schools(s) etc., as well as reducing commuting time between these municipalities while allowing each township to keep its own budget & elected officials without having anything effect on residents living within other townships!
Canandaigua was a census-designated place in Yates County, New York, United States. It is now a part of the town of Auburn.
