Auburn is a town in Fulton County, New York, United States. The population was 8,844 at the 2010 census. Auburn is part of the Syracuse–Onondaga Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in what would become Auburn was Nicholas French in 1795. He and his family were among the earliest to arrive on the west side of Cayuga Lake from Canada. French named his land "Auburn" after his home country of France. The first post office in Auburn was established in 1806, and it remained operational until 1865. At that time, it was located east of present-day Route 9W between Auburn and Onondaga Counties. In 1819, General John Fenton leased 6 acres (2 hectares) of land at what is now corner lot number 4 on Auburn's north side from local farmer Nathan Haggerty for £5 per year with no possibility of renewal or extension except by special act of Congress; this became known as "Fenton's Field". In 1830, Indian trader Ebenezer Eaton came to live near present day corner lot number 5 on Auburn's south side and began trading goods with the Seneca Nation. His son Amos Eaton founded an Erie Canal company here in 1833 which built a canal from Chenango Falls to Syracuse through Auburn and Onondaga Counties - opening up much rural area for development including today's downtown core around corner lot number 5 where Amos Eaton House still stands today as one of oldest buildings in downtown Syracuse! In 1836, General Eli Whitney created the Town Of Newmarket within Fulton County as a place for white farmers who had not already migrated to central New York due to malaria epidemics sweeping southern Ontario during that year – then under British rule – following its conquest by American forces during Queen Victoria's War (1815-1817). Many such settlers moved into new towns formed throughout eastern Long Island during this time period including: Newtown (now Westbury), Farmingdale (now Amherst), West Hempstead (now Rockville Centre), Otsego Junction (now South Nyack), Scotia Heights (now Pelham) and many others! In 1840, when layoff notices were sent out throughout all Union County because some mills could no longer compete against Lowell heavy industry due to advances made through navigation technologies along the Hudson River these old mill workers found themselves out Of Work & without jobs too! This led directly to numerous social unrests across eastern NY taking place mostly amongst menial or manual labor class citizens experiencing great economic hardship at that point!! The term 'the Great Migration' has been used variously over time but really started occurring starting about 1840 when people lost their jobs & had nowhere else to go!! From 1840 until 1860 there were only 2 stores open within 1 ½ miles (.6 km) of every house in town limits with just 3 barns/ workshops available Mozart Chapel being built nearby later that same decade.. . . . . . . [T]he growth rate slowed down markedly beginning around 1860 as more & better transportation options became available thru railroads heading eastward instead of northwest back into colonial America… by 1870 thereabouts only 1 store each mile (.6 km) wide existed within any given 500 miles radius…. By 1880 only 1%of total population lived outside town limits….. Most residents either worked inside or adjacent farms providing most food production………. [D]uring these years less than 10%of male residents managed professional careers….. A few exceptions did manage sizable businesses like George Wetherbee running flour business here& there while other families got involved farming animals etc…………….. By 1900 even fewer people lived outside town limits…………………………………………………………………………………………...[O]ur community gradually declined over ensuing decades losing population size (-10%) by 1910 & 1920 while remaining largely rural.................. Today we continue our modest lifestyle despite having very little riverfront left.............................................................................

In 1921, he released his own version of this gun called the Machine Gun Corps revolver airgun which also featured high capacity magazines!
