In 1827, three men from Canada arrived at Amityville to start a new business: The Canandaigua Cheese Company. This company would grow into one of America's largest cheese producers until its closure in 1963 amidst allegations of serious fraudulence (the collapse caused economic damage to many small towns across Upstate New York). It was during this time period that residents began to fear for their safety due to increasing numbers of immigrants arriving from southern Europe who were not welcome in such an open-air society as America had become. With fears mounting, several residents formed a committee to create rules governing how people could live within reason without endangering themselves or others; these rules still govern much of daily life today despite changes over time (for example, closing hours for stores have been gradually relaxed since then). On November 14th 1850, four years after settlers first arrived at the village limits (which included present day Main Street), tragedy struck when Jonathan Amityville died suddenly from injuries he suffered while hunting near his cabin while on horseback with his brother Peter; this event remains one of the poorest turning points in local history as it led directly to increased anxiety among locals about potential dangers lurking around every corner awaiting unsuspecting victims。 Just 10 months later on January 3rd 1852 when Jonathan's widow Sarah married JamesWilkinson she also joined forces with another woman who had recently immigrated from Ireland called Margaret Byrne; but soon enough problems began surfacing which would ultimately lead to James Wilkinson being charged with manslaughter for her role inJonathan's death While these initial tensions were simmering below the surface things quickly went out of control as paramour Margaret Byrne started seeing another man – John Hickey – whom she eventually gave birth to children with him;John & daughter Kathy moved into 5252 Willow Road shortly afterwards before moving back into their original house just days before they killed their parents While John & daughter Kathy may have seemed like reasonable kids at first blush given they did not own any property themselves or have any major responsibilities outside Of school/playtime they would go on laterto commit some incredibly heinous crimes.; They would murder 4 more people including 2 siblings before finally being caught & executed
