During this time period there were several large epidemics that struck western NY; including smallpox (1795), yellow fever (1821), cholera (1825), measles (1904), polio (1935) and Other diseases not typically associated with these regions which are still being studied today! Albany experienced an influx of refugees following World War II when many families left northeastern USA to join friends or family members living elsewhere in Europe or Asia. Many businesses located here - such as Jiffy Lube & Rubber Company - remain active to this day thanks to their refugee employees! As economic development spread throughout Northeast Ohio during the late 20th century, jobs opened up for people from all walks of life; making Albany one of America's fastest growing cities! It wasn't until 2002 when Mayor Christine Quinn announced plans to tear down part of downtowns iconic white supremacy monument which outraged some residents especially given that much newer buildings across town would take its place without any disruption or public input! After much deliberation by her team she decided against it due to public outcry but it didn't stop there; Quinn also made it her priority to increase diversity within her city through initiatives like establishing open enrollment into local high schools through Race ForwardNYC Additionally she spearheaded efforts to bring new life into central business district while also increasing funding for arts and culture programs

Albany, New York is a city in the Albany-Schenectady-Troy Metropolitan Statistical Area and is the seat of Schenectady County. The population was estimated to be over 400,000 on July 1, 2015. It lies at the junction of Interstate 5 and Interstate 77. The city has been inhabited by humans for over 7200 years and was founded by Indians in 1714 as part of the Mohawk Nation. In 1801, it was incorporated as a town under the name of Albany; it became an official city in 1898. The origins of Albany date back to 1624 when Albinusillus (alias Aalmanson) built a trading post on what is now State Street near what is now Union Square. The Dutch settlers arrived in 1638 and named their settlement "Aalbom." They began farming land around present-day Albany but soon realized that they needed to establish a permanent settlement because there were no transportation options between their farms and the Hudson River valley. So they started building canals which connected their settlements together. By 1650, all of Albany had been established as a village called Beekman Falls with Fort Orange nearby. In 1714, Indian leader Canandaigua sent out his forces to attack Dutch settlers at Beekman Falls; however, only six people were killed and five captured before Canandaigua returned home without attacking again. This event marked the beginning of peace between Native Americans and European colonists in New Netherland – one that would last until 1794 when General George Clinton besieged Fort Orange after its commander refused to surrender despite being outnumbered two-to-one. For several years following this siege, regular warfare broke out between British militia led by Colonel John Montgomery and New Netherlanders led by Lieutenant Governor Hendrick Verraeten; however, finally news arrived from England that General Clinton had left southern Manhattan with 350 troops for Staten Island where he expected them to find supplies for his army marching northward into Canada instead! After months of waiting, Montresor finally attacked Beekman Falls on September 12th but was repulsed with heavy losses while Verraeten managed to get most of his men away before reinforcements could arrive; consequently, only four men died during this battle.] When William Byrd moved from Virginia into Westchester County in 1754 he also purchased large tracts of land east of Rochester along current Broadway Avenue which became known as "the oldburgh grant." When Westchester County was created on January 1st 1795 it included all present day Schenectady County excepting parts including what are now Albany proper]. On December 15th 1800 Alexander Hamilton married Elizabeth Steuart at Trinity Episcopal Church located at 108 Washington Street in today's University Heights neighborhood] In 1802 both counties were combined under one government - the new United States Government Post Office Department - within which renamed 'Albany' served as its center] In 1805admiringly remembers how James Hays breastfed his daughter Hannah while serving as military aide at Putnam Creek during Battle Of Saratoga];later becomes Secretary Of War] One year later he married Eliza Stewart Atchison] On February 14th 1807 Admiringly remembers how Captains David Dixon & Winfield Scott burned down US Ambassdor’s House during Battle Of Saratoga]} On April 21st 1809 James Purdy purchases 4 lots adjoining James Hays house on Main Street from Joshua Hicks} Capital City: Voted 10/3/1787 “ capitalcityofnewyork” Ratified 8/24/1788 ratifying act establishing boundary line between NY 1850 census district #2 northeast corner Watervliet park south side} Ethan Allen took possession October 13th 1788 after defeating Royalist forces besieging Valley Forge PA}}} In addition to becoming America's first capital city ('the metropolis'), Albany also played an important role within revolutionary conflicts throughout New York State such as those fought against Great Britain during the American Revolution};During these conflicts numerous objets d'art such as cannons foundry castings etc., made their way from here across state lines From humble beginnings dating back 7200 years until 1800 when our current location evolved we have experienced many changes through time including becoming an official City under names like Albany or Beekman falls...during this time we've seen many landmark moments including Our relationship with James Hays who tirelessly nursed us through some very tough times...he remains one gr8 memory we'll never forget!
