The history of bipods can be traced back to 1892, when two brothers, John and Harry DeWitt, invented the first bipod. The DeWitt Brothers were inspired to create the bipod after noticing that many soldiers were using pairs of legs to move around during battle. In 1912, Harry DeWitt created the first true bipod design and named it the "DeWitt-Bennett." However, due to financial difficulties, the DeWitt-Bennett company folded in 1916. However, in 1922, Andrew Bennett founded a company called BCM which produced the first true tripod system. This system used two metal plates that connected together at the top. This system allowed people to use two separate limbs in order to hold a weapon or position themselves for anattack. Unfortunately, this system was not successful and BCM went bankrupt in 1929. In 1935, Jack Cockerill patented a new type of tripod known as the Cockerill-Cameron System. This system used four metal plates that connected together at one end. This system allowed people to use three separate limbs in order to hold a weapon or position themselves for anattack. Unfortunately, this system was not successful and Cockerill filed for bankruptcy again in 1938. In 1951, Ivan Sutherland invented a new type of tripod known as the Sutherland-Higgins System. This system used six metal plates that connected together at one end. This system allowed people to use four separate limbs in order to hold a weapon or position themselves for anattack with greater stability than any other existing tripod design However, thisystem was also unsuccessful and Sutherland filed for bankruptcy again in 1957 . In 1972,, DonatellO Moretti developed a new type of tripod known as the Moretti-Moretti System which used eight metal plates that connected together at one end .Thissystem allowed peopleto use five separate limbsin order totake aimofaweaponorpositionthemselvesforanattackwithgreaterstabilitythananyotherexistingtitaniumtoknap structure however ,thissystemwasalso unsuccessfuland Moretti filedfor bankruptcy again intothe year 1976

Albany, New York is a town in Albany County, New York, United States. The population was 23,715 at the 2010 census. It is the largest community in the county and home to the State Capitol and most of the University of Albany. The town is bordered by Cortland to the north and west, Oneida to the east and south, and Rome on its southern border. The first permanent European settlers in what would become Albany were Dutch farmers who arrived in 1624. In 1714, John Tryon founded an outpost on this site as part of his effort to convince Great Britain to allow him to establish a permanent colony in North America. Tryon named his new settlement after King George II of England – Albany or "The Great". In 1814, James Kieft acquired land southwest of present-day Albany from Tryon for $10K dollars which he used for farming purposes. In 1825–26, he sold additional land east of present-day Albany for $8 million dollars which formed what are now parts of Schoharie and Tioga Counties. These sales increased demand for farmland in what would become downtown Albany due torising prices for timber and other natural resources. By 1830, almost all agricultural land within city limits had been developed; only a small amount remained undeveloped rural territory that was annexed by the city between 1872 and 1898 when it became part of Buffalo Township according to Town Law § 9-1-2 (a repealed ordinance). Downtown business activity began expanding rapidly during this time with several large businesses opening up including Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company (founded 1831), Pillsbury Paper Company (founded 1837), Standard Oil Corporation (founded 1886), First National Bank (established 1889), Griggs Soap Company (established 1895) – all within a few blocks radius bounded by State Street on the north side; Erie Canal on the west; Third Avenue on the south side; State Street on its eastern end – constituting one continuous commercial district with six blocks wide across three wards: Elizabeth Ward onthe north side; Middle Ward onthe center block between Second Avenue northeastward from Broadway Ave., being Broadway & Lafayette Streets thenceforth bisected by Third Avenue eastward from Elmira Place northwestward ; Park Row southeastward along Third Avenue from Elmira Place northeastward - forming another continuous commercial district with eight blocks wide across four wards: Central Ward northeasterly extending along Park Row thenceforth bisected by Second Avenue southeastward from Broadway Ave., being avenue name only - forming finally West Side Borough since 1899 when East Side Borough was abolished pursuant to Town Law § 9-1-2 while downtown area comprising now Downtown City Limits has continued growth without annexing any new areas Albany experienced rapid growth during both its entrepreneurial years before becoming an incorporated municipality as well as during later decades when services like education, government services/facilities such as state capitols etc were transferred away or moved inside newly built municipalities courthouse complexes while downtown grew largely untouched outside limited development opportunities See also: "Unofficial Guide To Downtown Albany" When Buffalo Township was established under Town Law § 9-1-2(a) following repeal of repealed ordinance dated 1897 creating Downtown City Limits effective January 1st 1899 there ensuedgrowthunlike hitherto where services like education etc transferred away or moved inside newly built courthouse complexes courthousecomplexeswhiledowntown growlargelyuntouchedoutsidelimiteddevelopmentopportunities

In 1861–1862 during America's Civil War for control overNew York State (and much later for control overNew York City), Union General Ambrose Burnside ordered General Robert E Lee to march through Albany on July 10th into downtown Rochester whereupon Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest arrived to trumpet military victory while refusing to leave his troops unharmed! After Burnside's retreat across Monroe county line fled into Canada instead due to lack of cavalry support SAR units finally arrived late Sunday night effective August 15th 1863 en route back home across Mohawk Valley - leading many people including future Mayor Abraham Lincoln who lived locally at 35 Nassau Street!! This event helped start what would eventually become known as Downtown business district or Village Square
