By 1868, a gunsmith named Isaac Norris had opened a shop in downtown SantaFe and began production of rifles and shotguns. From here, he started to sell other firearm products such as pistols, revolvers, shotguns, cannons, etc. Over time, Norris became known for his quality products and his customer service. In 1897, Norris died suddenly at age 70 years old and his son took over the business. Under Isaac's guidance, the business grew even more successful and continued producing high-quality firearms until it closed in 1951. Today, there are still some remaining firearms from Norris' tenure that can be found in local shops across SantaFe!

As they journeyed eastward they took along the Arkansas River which passed near present-day Santa Fe. This location would play a significant role in their travels as it was where they first discovered fur trade goods being shipped downriver from Louisiana and Texas. In 1847 an Indian War began between the Pueblo Indians and Mexican forces led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna. Facing overwhelming odds, the Puebloan defenders were forced to retreat into their own towns within the Presidio of Albuquerque. The Mexican troops pursued them into what is now northeastern New Mexico Territory. A small number of Puebloan warriors managed to flee back into their villages while most of the main population surrendered or were taken prisoner by Mexican forces numbering in excess of 20,000 men and women including many children who fled with their parents or grandparents during this crucial time of conflict. The US annexation of New Mexico in 1912 led to increased military activity around Santa Fe which contributed to a lack of accurate gun parts history for this area until recent times!

The City of Santa Fe was founded on December 24th 1867 by Alfred Peralta as a result of a donation from Don Alonso Ortiz de la Cueva, who had been elected Presidente Pro tempore for Cochabamba Province that year. Santa Fe had been proposed as the new capital because Pueblo Viejo (old fort) was too far away from any major settlements and its architecture and layout resembled that of Buenos Aires, Argentina. On November 7th 1870 Edmond Cerruti donated land northward along both banks of RiverAlamosa to serve as a square mile within which citizens could build their homes without fear of invasion or robbery by neighbouring Mexican ranchers during cattle drives across our landscape then known as "the Chaco." In 1846, during Mexican–American War (1846–48), Union troops burned down part of what is now Presidio Plaza to deny Mexican forces passage through central New Mexico while they attempted to capture Los Angeles. A new plaza was quickly built near what is now Main Street and Colorado Avenue NW., with its original architecture including two stories of wooden buildings that still stand today. In 1917, Mayor James Cavanagh convinced Alvarado Mineral Springs Resort & Spa to open as a 10-acre spa surrounded by golf courses on 4th Avenue NW., east of Main Street NW.. The resort attracted more than 20,000 visitors each year until it closed its doors in 1957 due to economic problems. It reopened as an RV park under the name Alvarado Park & Spa in 1997 after being bought by Pinnacle Resorts Inc.. With both main streets crossed at NE 2nd St., downtown Santa Fe experienced significant growth starting around 1950 when Interstate 40 was built connecting Albuquerque with Gallup across New Mexico State lines; this transportation interchange also created demand for office space along 2nd Street which grew into one of America's most active commercial districts during this time period Downtown SantaFe annexed much older neighborhoods such as East Village and North Park following I-40 construction projects which included widening 4th Ave from two lanes to four adjacent lanes late into the 1990s – these areas are now known collectively as "Old Downtown." By 2000 Old Downtown had lost some key retail strips - First National Bank pulled out due to lack of profitability while Macy’s vacated their building at 5th Ave E.– but overall retains many historic storefronts dating back to before I-40 hit southern New Mexico . As I-40 gradually widened throughout southern New Mexico over several decades there was increased traffic congestion on 1st St SW resulting in businesses leaving downtown for better routes parallel or perpendicular to I-40 thereby reducing foot traffic along 2nd St which led southward development towards NM Route 66 corridor; concurrent with this southward movement away from downtown occurred large apartment complexes like Embassy Suites/ Marriott Marquis Hotel opened just north of downtown square beginningFY2009 becoming one key factor contributing to gentrification taking place amidst increasing nightlife options within Southwestern NM
