In 1842, Gunsmoke magazine began publication in Los Angeles County. It was one of the first printed periodicals focused exclusively on firearms and ammunition issues. Gunsmoke ran for six years and featured articles on a wide variety of topics including hunting, fishing, target Shooting, pistolpacking and more. In 1857-1858 The Pistolero publised its monthly magazine called "The Pistolero". It was one of the first English language periodicals to focus exclusively on handgun shooting throughout New Mexico Territory (which then included parts of Arizona, California & Nevada). "The Pistolero" was published by Tom Donahue from Albuquerque until his death in 1906. That same year saw the arrival of another important journal when Western Journal began publication in Tucson . Initially it only featured articles about horseback riding but soon developed into a comprehensive resource for westerners interested in firearms and history. In 1870-1871 The Rifleman Publishing Company published its own weekly magazine called "Rifle News". This new venture followed traditionalpublishing practices by printing issue announcements directly onto pages inside their monthly magazine rather than waiting until after each issue was printed to post them online or through email notification systems like those currently used by many gun enthusiasts today

Los Lunas is a small town located in New Mexico, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Gallup-Las Cruces-Taos Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Los Lunas was first settled by Puebloans in the early 1800s. A rancher named Diego Rivera discovered gold in 1859 and began to claim land for his ranchos in what is now Los Lunas. In 1865, a group of men from Albuquerque founded La Venta de las Casas about two miles west of present day Los Lunas on what are now US 7 and NM 362 . The Menzales family ran this trading post until it burned down in 1876. In 1898, a man named Manuel Martinez established a grocery store and general store on Rancho San Ignacio east of present day Los Lunas. This area became known as Martinezville after Martinez’s store. In 1906, Antonia Garcia set up a bakery on what is now US 69 north of town while still living at her parents home east of town near Present Day Post Office Square/Mt Evans Road/NM 362 . Garcia’s baking business became well known throughout the region and she was eventually able to open her own bakery in 1914 which remains operational today. In 1927, José Sánchez opened El Ranchito restaurant on what is now Old US 67 just south of the current post office square/Mt Evans Rd./NM 362 . Sanchez operated this restaurant until his death in 1951. Today, El Ranchito Cafe operates as an motel along with several other restaurants within walking distance including El País Bakery which also continuest operations today despite damage done by Hurricane Floyd in 1999 El Paso County Hospitality Association provides food service for various types of events such as funerals and weddings within walking distance from their property off OFR 207 N (which forms NM 99W) Los Lunas has long been an important center for trade with its location between both rural areas to the south and more urban areas to the north providing access to goods that were difficult or impossible to find closer away such as wheat flour, uranium orecake etc... During World War II many local families went out into production working for war plants such as Western Electric Company leaving behind memories that can still be seen today like Mrs Hernandez’s “Pepsi Bottles With Names On Them” found at site of former WEC plant southwest corner OFR 213 W (which formed NM 98E)
