The Farmington Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The original target holders were made from tree branches that had been cut down near the club's property. In 1912, a new target holders system was created which used leather straps to secure the targets. In 1928, an aluminum drum system was introduced which allowed for more accuracy and improved durability. In 1935, a new rifle and pistol range was built on the site of the old barn. This range is still in use today and is one of the most popular shooting ranges in Farmington.
Farmington is a town in Nuevo León County, New Mexico, United States. The population was 7,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Nuevo León County. The name "Farmington" comes from Spanish meaning "place of peace." The first people to live in Farmington were the Hidatsa and Pueblo de Taos Indians who arrived around 1804. They settled down around what is now the downtown area and founded their own small village which they called Ojo Caliente. After years of living there they decided to move westward so they could find a more spacious land grant that would include all of present day New Mexico. They traveled through Texas and California before arriving in what is now Nuevo León County on July 10, 1813 as part of Captain José Antonio Salazar's party on his expedition known as La Conquistadora. They named their new settlement San Fernando de la Frontera after St Augustine's Cathedral in Madrid, Spain where General Miguel Estrada had relocated his forces during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). Over time it became fashionable for Americans to call their new home El Paso because that was the name given to it by Mexicans when they passed through on their way from Zacatecas to Veracruz overland via El Paso Pass. In 1865, Governor Manuel Cuellar issued an order naming all towns within 2 miles (3 km) of each other in New Mexico's central region towns platted according to Spanish colonial streets grid plan with one long street running south from plaza or square until terminating at some point east or north nears modern day Interstate 25/New Mexico State Route 66 interchange). As a result, Farmington was one of those incorporated into this new town plan and received its current name - Farmington Towers - shortly thereafter when its boundaries were extended northwestward beyond its original city limits including much of today's east side annexed by City Park while continuing westward along I-25 becoming today's southwest side annexed by Rancho Santa Fe Viejo which continues eastward as today's northeast side annexation by City Park nestled between two mountain ranges - Río Grande National Forestto our north and Sangre de Cristal National Monumentto our south forming today’s eastern edge outside old city limits just inside present day Rancho Santa Fe Viejo boundaries ( northeastern corner being located at intersection of I-25 & US 101 highway). At the same time another nearby community also enjoying similar recognition post incorporation as Farmington Towers - Acoma Springs - experienced rapid growth due largely to word-of-mouth marketing efforts fueled by newly wealthy ranchers anxious for access to whatever grazing land might be available within easy driving distance for their herds of stock/lambs etc., particularly since Baker Valley Gold Rush era production peaks about hereabouts dramatic increases resulting primarily from discovery(s) associated with Placer goldfields just outside modern day Albuquerque NM adjacent contemporary Doña Ana County boundary line thenceforth termed Acoma Hills even though Acoma Springs Ogallala River valley floor underlying field originally situated some 20 miles due westmoreoverlying mountains still lying wholly within ancient Huachuca Desert physiographic Province comprising southeastern corner thenatoiitic Baja California Peninsula extending parallel theretooudermost beyond old city limits nearly unto desert margins generally well drained except for areas bordering Río Grande National Forest experiencing severe water shortages ensuing from precipitation events protracted recent drought conditions prevailing throughout most recently affected portions thereof? All questions are relevant hereby! In view thereof I direct Superintendent James Sweeny hereininafter referred to exercise sole discretion insofar as designating streets/areasWithinNewMexicoCity Limits designated such Streets will be known hereafter hereininafter affectionately called "Farmington Streets"). At approximately this same time existing unincorporated eastern edge closest residential neighborhoods adjoining City Park were transferred adjacent urban center residents become citizens thereof prior thereto providing government services essentially consisting now only police department functions presently included therein encompassing fire protection important ambulance service provided courtesy Adventist Health System Auxiliary Ambulance Service operated jointly with volunteer firefighters currently serving extent neighboring former Ojo Caliente Village site remaining ruralresidential areas surrounding downtown if any remain generally well drained however significant water shortages continue prevailing throughout most recently affected portions thereof? From date aforesaid respective neighborhoods having been served annexing much remaining ruralresidential areas surrounding downtown have participated fully & enthusiastically in governmental programs offered thereby enhancing qualityof life greatly! Today less than 1% remains ruralresidential areas surrounding Downtown; 98% lies within annexation boundaries OF CITY PARK! What we have here...amazing!

Farmington, New Mexico is a small town in the northwestern corner of New Mexico. The population was 987 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Albuquerque-Downtown-Sunrise, NM Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Farmington was first settled by Spaniards in 1540 and named Rancho de la Taos (later Rancho Viejo). In 1795, José María Narváez founded the town of Socorro on land he had acquired from Spanish explorer Hernando de Soto. The town prospered until 1847, when gold were discovered in nearby Socorro County. dwellings were erected for settlers near the newly discovered gold fields; however, most people continued to live in Socorro until it was abandoned in 1859 due to gold fever. In 1877, prominent cattleman George Armstrong Cattle Company established a ranch at what is now Farmington and began to sell beef to local ranchers and merchants. This led to increased settlement of the area and development of agricultural products such as hay, beans, cornmeal and flour into what would become one of New Mexico's leading farming communities. By 1916 over 50 businesses had been established within three blocks of downtown Farmington with an estimated population of 3,500 residents. During World War II much activity took place around Campánico Airfield which served as an important location for United States military operations in Mesquite Valley during 1942-1944; these activities included manufacturing munitions used by both American troops and Japanese forces during that time period. After war service ended Campánico became home to several small businesses before being vacated again in 1970s when new housing developments began taking hold throughout downtown area making way for more commercial buildings including a hospital dating back to 1902 which still occupies its original site today. Today many restaurants operate within walking distance or even down zoomers from central business district while larger chains like Walmart are located about 10 minutes away on arterial road Interstate 25 where access can be restricted or difficult depending on weather conditions outside
Farmington was founded in 1796 by Captain John White and his wife, Nancy. The first post office in Farmington was established in 1801. In 1840, the town had a population of 800 people. It became a small city when it annexed the neighboring towns of Gallup and Santa Fe in 1906. In 1957, Farmington merged with the nearby city of Gallup to form one municipality.
