These buildings are now part of Historic Park #2 in downtown Clovis. In 1957, Pima County purchased all of Rancho del Chaco from Juan Bautista Alvarado and established it as Wildlife Preserve #1 adjacent to present day Monument Valley National Monument on the eastern edge of town limits. In 1959-1960, Don Edward Fenton donated land comprising most of today's northwest corner of town limits between Monument Valley National Monument and Interstate 10/Upper Verde Road to create Wildlife Preserve #2 adjacent to present day US 191 connecting I-10/Upper Verde Road with Tombstone Boulevard near Goldwater Park northeast corner since this area lay within rancho boundary originally...
