In 1942, Rifle bullets were developed that could penetrate tanks and other armoured vehicles without causing damage. The first rifle ammunition to use these bullets was called “T-Bombs”. This type of ammunition caused tremendous damage when fired at high speeds due to its fragmentation effect which allowed multiple small rounds to hit target effectively while leaving the vehicle unharmed. The T-Bomb round also saw service in ground troops in Europe during WW2 as a result of its effectiveness against armoured vehicles

Carlsbad is a small town in New Mexico, United States. The population was 8,857 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Santa Fe County seat and is located on the east side of the Rio Grande River. The town was first established in 1887 as Carlsbad Springs, named for Danish immigrant Ole Rasmussen Carlsbad (1821-1892). The post office was founded in 1888 and initial settlers were Norwegian immigrants. In 1912, the name changed to Carlsbad to honor General John A. Carr, commander of US forces during World War I. The name reverted back to Carlsbad following Carr's death in 1922. The original white settler community had only two buildings - an agricultural store and a school - when blacksmith Arnaud D'Alene moved into the area in 1907. He started a forge and smithy that became one of the most important blacksmithing businesses in town until it closed its doors in 1957 due to economic difficulty. A local resident, Donny Yarbrough began operating a grocery store near what is now First Street & United States Highway 287 before moving his business across First Street to what is now Seventh Avenue & Speedway Boulevard around 1960. During this time he also operated several other businesses including gas stations and convenience stores which are all long gone but their memories remain with locals who frequented them during those years."
