Woodland Park is a village in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,844 at the 2010 census. The Village of Woodland Park was incorporated on April 14, 1915. The name of the village comes from the wooded hills that line its boundaries. The first settler in what is now Woodland Park was James Crouse who arrived in 1814 and named his new land "Newburgh". He and his family were among the earliest settlers to arrive in Middlesex County, locating near wherepresent-day Princeton and Elizabethtown are today. With respect to demographics, according to Census Bureau estimates from 2000 through 2010, Woodland Park's racial makeup was 79% white (of any race), 12% black or African American, 3% Asian/Pacific Islander, 2% Hispanic or Latino (of any race), and 1% two or more races. These percentages have not changed much since those figures were published; however, since 2000 there has been an increase in multi-racial families living within the village limits. In recent decades there has also been a significant influx of Hispanics from Mexico City as well as Asians moving into positions within local businesses and government institutions due to increased job opportunities in commuting areas outside of New York City. In 2011/12 alone there were over 100 newly hired foreign nationals working for companies located within Woodland Park limits - making it one of the most diverse villages in New Jersey! There are several cultural attractions located within Woodland Park including Wagner Theater complex which presents classical music concerts throughout the year as well as educational events such as art classes and masterclasses by noted artists; Stonington Square which contains a variety of vendors selling everything from groceries to clothing to sporting goods; Center for Arts & Culture which offers movie screeningsmonthly along with exhibits on different subjects including art history; Heritage Hall which features traditional carriages both indoor and outdoor exhibitions on various topics related to Dutch culture etc.; Greenway Golf Course - considered one of NJ's top courses with championship tournaments held annually featuring some of Americas best players; Andalusia Brewing Company - homebrewing heaven for beer lovers around town who can enjoy their products fresh off the brewery floor while enjoying views straight out their window...the list goes on!

Woodland Park is a borough in New Jersey, United States. The population was 20,711 at the 2010 census. The name "Woodland Park" comes from the forest that once surrounded it. It was annexed by the City of Paterson in 1932 and became part of the Patterson Township subdivision of Paterson on January 1, 1939. The first Europeans to visit what is now Woodland Park were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1624 and named it "Willemstadt," after their Prince Willem-Alexander (later William III of Netherlands). They also built a small fort there. English explorers discovered this area during their expeditions in 1675 and 1676, but didn't rename it as they did other areas they conquered during those expeditions such as New Netherland (New York State). The first permanent settler in what is now Woodland Park was Nicholas de Jongh, who arrived here with his family in 1701. He founded the town of West Orange on land he had bought from Maurice Ewing for $2 per acre (about $ ). De Jongh's heirs sold all or part of the town to various groups over time, but its nucleus remained until 1882 when it was taken over by Morris County. In 1892, Morris County created a new township called Patterson which included what is now Woodland Park except for certain portions that became part of Hackensack Township. In 1952, Hackensack Township merged into Makerere Township which then merged into Bergen County finaly making Woodland Park an unincorporated community within Bergen County proper. A post office called "Woodlands" was established here on October 9, 1837; it served until 1861 when it changed its name to "Paterson." A train station called "Paterson Station" operated here from 1886 until 1914; however, this structure burned down on September 10th, 1916. In 1927 Borough President Harry Saretsky ordered that all public buildings be replaced with modern architecture due to budget limitations caused by World War I recession; these replacements included new schools and police stations as well as enlargement of Belmar park which served as golfcourse for many years before being turned into an open-air shopping mall today known as Big Apple Mall . According to the U.S. Census Bureau , Woodlands Park has a total area of , allof which is land . As of 2010 , there are no streets or roads within Woodlands Park itself - residents must travel outside the borough boundaries to get around
