In 1818, James Sibley bought of land from Nicholson for $3000 and erected a small log cabin called "Sibley's Cabin". Sibley had been born into a wealthy family in Vermont and had come to America to start anew. He named his new town after himself – Sibleystown – which he located on a hill overlooking what is now downtown Woodbury. By 1830, Sibley had developed a small village around his cabin with about 25 residents living in cabins or tents on or near the riverbank; by 1840 there were 100 residents living in buildings made out of logs or earthwork Hoboken-style with over 20 businesses providing services such as web designing and farm work. The first school was founded in 1824 by Reverend Samuel Morse Sr., one of America's first educators; it operated under sponsorship from Captain George Washington Howe until 1850 when it joined forces with Princeton Academy (now Princeton University) as The Boarding School for Boys which continued operation until 1903 when it merged with East Side High School (now Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic High School). In 1850s & 1860s many major inventions occurred here like: Western Electric Co’s Model T Telephone Company Manufacturing Plant started up here back then During World War II more than 3000 men worked at Ford Motor Company’s Newark plant making products needed for war efforts including radios direction finders Bombsights tanks headlights tires parts etc Nowadays many people commute into Trenton or other larger cities every day but much remains unchanged about this historic town like its vibrant downtown scene full of galleries boutiques restaurants pubs & coffee shops all built since 1800+ years ago when this place was just raw frontier settlement
