Woodbury is a township in Warren County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
The township was formed on November 3, 1837, from parts of Sussex and Uniontown Township. On May 10, 1914, it became a full township when it annexed portions of Easton Township.
On December 15, 1927, Woodbury repealed its incorporation by act of the Legislature due to lack of support.
In 1951-1952 Woodbury had an all-white school board which caused controversy among some residents who felt they were being discriminated against because they were black.
In 1959-1960 Woodbury had a referendum on whether to become an all-black town; however this referendum failed by a wide margin.
On February 25th, 1984 local voters approved creating a borough within the township limits as part of a comprehensive plan that would have included adjustments for changing demographics in the Boroughs adjacent to Glassboro and Camden counties since these areas had been experiencing rapid growth during that decade. In 1990 the Township Council voted unanimously to annex portions of Plumstead Township into Woodbury. In 2013 both municipalities agreed to merge their governments and this merger was effective September 1st. According to the 2016 American Community Survey there are 11 businesses in Woodbury employing over 50 people with retail sales totaling $340K
The racial makeup of the township according to this survey is 79% White (non-Hispanic), 7% Black or African American (non-Hispanic), 2% Native American or Alaska Native (non-Hispanic), 2% Asian (non- Hispanic), 0.1% Pacific Islander (non-Hispanic) and 0.4% other races.

Woodbury is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census and 3,264 as of the 2020 Census. Woodbury is part of the Camden–Newark–Atlantic City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers to what is now Woodbury were Hugh and Ellen Goode who arrived from England in 1678. Hugh's brother George also settled there in 1701. The Goodes built a gristmill on the river which became a major industry in Woodbury until it closed its doors in 1912 due to financial difficulties. In 1838, John Hargrave moved his family to what is now Woodbury from Gloucester Township because he found land there for sale that would eventually be developed into Mountain View (now Allentown). In 1841, he founded the first store in what is now Woodbury – J.Hargrave & Son – which remains one of the town's largest employers to this day. On November 5, 1855, by act of Assembly No. 610 of 1856, Woodbury became an incorporated borough with a Mayor and Aldermen as well as Sheriff and Collector of Taxes; three years later on February 22nd1858 it became township by an act of Assembly No. 611 under then Governor Andrew Johnson with same powers and four Aldermen instead of three as borough had had The township was abolished on February 14th1914 when Hunterdon County was created out of portions of Essex and Passaic counties along with Burlington Township within Burlington County due to county-wide consolidation which resulted in much joblessness within these townships during this time period
The town of Woodbury, New Jersey was founded in 1798. The town was named for Colonel John Woodbury, a Revolutionary War general who fought in the Battle of Princeton.
