Westwood, NJ is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 15,594 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden–Wilmington–Trenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first gun mags were started by John Moses Browning and Samuel Colt in 1855 on Market Street in Westwood. The guns used to be sold only to soldiers and other law enforcement officers. In 1865, George White opened his own gun store on High Street in Westwood and began selling magazines for rifles and shotguns. His shop was known as "The Arsenal." He also manufactured pistols and revolvers from 1866 until his death in 1898. After White's death, his son-in-law James Baily became head of the company and continued manufacturing handguns until 1926 when production stopped because of World War II restrictions on firearms exports to Japan. In 1907, Benjamin Banneker founded the Benjamine Arms Company which made guns specifically for police use such as submachineguns and shotguns. Banneker also marketed a pistol called the "Banner" which had a grenade launcher built into it that could fire grenades out of its barrel instead of using traditional rounds like pistols did at that time. The company continued making handguns until 1949 when it merged with National Firearms Corporation to form Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives (Bureau). However, some Benjamine Arms models still remain today (e.g., the Model 586) under license from Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms & Explosives due to their historical significance

Westwood is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 30,871. The name "Westwood" was derived from West Point on Long Island where British soldiers were garrisoned before America gained independence in 1776. The town was originally named for Sir John Westwood (1685-1753), an English general and politician who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain during the reign of George III. The first Europeans to visit what is now Westwood were Dutch traders and explorers in 1611/12. By 1686, both the Dutch and English had established trading posts at present-day Easton Township and Saybrook Township, respectively. However, it wasn't until July 14th, 1776 that the area around Easton became part of America when troops under General William Howe landed there with orders to capture Hessian General John Burgoyne's army besieging Trenton. When news arrived back home of Howe's success at Saratoga Creek that month, Parliament ordered Howe to withdraw his forces instead of continuing on to Princeton Castle which was then under siege by Burgoyne's army. In 1777/78, Fort Washington was built on land near what is now Lower Merion Avenue and Park Place in order to protect against French attack from Canada while Fort Clinton stood adjacent to what is now State Street between Third and Fourth Streets in order to protect against British attack from Canada should France become involved in any conflict with Great Britain over colonies such as Quebec or Nova Scotia. On October 10th following Lord Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown after four months of fighting leading up to it - setting off a series of strategic defeats for British forces - all American Revolutionary War troops within three miles (5 kilometers)of Philadelphia marched into battle against Cornwallis' forces under General George Washington including 400 men-at-arms from Pennsylvania commanded by Major Robert Morris - resulting in 1,500 casualties among American troops alone versus only 20 casualties inflicted by Cornwallis' forces on British troops totaling about 725 men for a total loss for Cornwallis totaling about 21stousand pounds sterling value). On November 8th following Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown - set off by Washington's march into battle one day earlier - all American Revolutionary War troops within three miles (5 kilometers)of Philadelphia again marched into battle against Cornwallis' forces led by Commodore Christopher Gadsden who lost 2ndin command major General James Monmouth commanding 5th Brigade consisting mostly Loyalist Irishmen numbering approximately 635 men killed or wounded with an additional 150 captured alive). These events led directly to the United States Declaration of Independence which took place eight days later on December 12th after Battlefields near Morristown where more than 2000 people were killed including Continental Army officers leading Generals George Washington Lieutenant Colonel Nathanael Greene Captain Samuel Troup Sergeantmajor John Sullivan with AdjutantGeneral Thomas Lawrence.] According to the United States Census Bureau , Westwood borough has a total area of 4square miles (10 square kilometers), including 3square miles (8 square kilometers) of land and 0.15 square mile (0 square kilometer) of water.[1] As Census Bur

Westwood was founded in 1795 by Westwood Township residents, who named it for their home town of Westwood, England. The township was created from part of Franklin Township. In 1881, the township was divided into two parts and Westwood became an independent municipality. In 1918, the portion of the township that lay east of Route 9 became a separate borough called Easton. In 1947, all of New Jersey was merged into one state and Westwood became a part of Paterson. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Westwood were Englishmen who had come up the Delaware River in search of new land to farm. They began to move westward as early as 1795 and soon there were several villages established near where present-dayWestwood sits: Copley Park on the north side of Route 9, Yorktown Heights on the south side, and Easton on the east side. In 1801, when Franklin Township was formed from portions of Westwood and Easton Township, John Pemberton built his house at Copley Park which still stands today. He would later become one of the proprietors and directors of Serra Bank & Trust Company which is headquartered in nearby Paramus; he also served as Mayor (1914-18) and Borough President (1947-49). Pemberton is considered one of our earliest settlers in this area and his house still stands today as a reminder of that time period. During World War II many people from these towns joined forces with others throughout New Jersey in support of our country’s war effort; many jobs were found here including making munitions plants at Saugerties Junction just northwest OFWESTWOOD while other factories produced materials needed for tanks or planes being made at Trenton amontsway southeast OFWESTWOOD These factories closed after WWII but some remain active such as Chemical Corporation plant #1 which produces fuel oil products used by buses/leased equipment etc., located off Rte 202 just west Ofwstwoods corner with its modern turbine generator(?), since demolished along with much else around here since then... [and] another old factory has been converted into apartments recently known locally simply as “the Factory” although no longer producing anything………. This area has seen quite a bit go through over recent years but thankfully most have been replaced or renovated rather than torn down......... One can only imagine how beautiful it must have been back when these places were thriving with families living here close to each other… Today’s community seemed like something outofleft field upon arriving 50 plus years ago….. There are few reminders remaining from those days except for Pembertons House which still standsalbeit without its original roofline….. There are numerous small businesses located throughout town today including three grocery stores (Grocery Outlet Store - modernized), post office (Opened 1984), bank (First National Bank) as well as several bars/restaurants……………. It should be noted that although Businesses abound within town limits today none ever originated within current boundaries.. This makes FORT WORTHY OF THE WESTWOOD COMMUNITY TAGLINE – “Welcome To The Legends Of West Wood!”
