John Witherspoon and Mrs. Eunice Dyer; it served until 1870 when it moved to Plainfield Township which then consolidated with Westwood. The first church services were held at the home of Mrs Cushman in 1861; that same year saw the opening of First Presbyterian Church which remains today one of the most popular churches in town. In 1865 there were only 4 residents living in what is now downtownWestwood while present day there are over 10 thousand people who call Westwood their home including many large families who have made this township their permanent residence since its incorporation into Middlesex County over 130 years ago! Pioneering real estate agent Samuel Morse lived for some time during his childhood days right next door to where he would eventually open up his successful Morse Bros./Morse & Son store on Broad Street today still going strong as one of Northjersey's top retailers! When looking back through all these years we can see so much progress has been made but also so much MORE could be done especially if our local elected officials would take pride not just in doing their job but also putting our community FIRST! Our Mayor Cory Booker has shown us that he takes great pride and interestin making sure that we all come together for common goals and objectives whether it be increasing education opportunities or improving infrastructure – something I know my Alma Mater will sorely miss upon my departure but Cory will continue to lead from within!

Westwood was a small town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in what is now Westwood were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1664. The township was organized on March 14, 1765, from portions of Perth Amboy and Uniontown. During this time there were large physical changes as well as social ones with many people moving into the city due to high housing prices along with increasing joblessness rates among African Americans throughout much of Newark after Reconstruction ended in 1865 following American Civil War victory over Confederate forces. During much of this period (1918-1965), Westwood limits its borders to just east of Clinton Street (the original line) which remains today's boundaries for most residents living inside ZIP code 07302 despite being located within Borough Council district 3 since 1984 (the Borough has since been moved into District 2). However annexation by neighboring Haledon Township during that same period increased westward growth by about two blocks southward along Bloomfield Avenue until finally reaching Clinton Street exactly one block northward on that stretch starting about 1950s - making it effectively an inner borough for only those residents living east of Clinton Street - never mind across Bloomfield Avenue from vast sections of Haledon Township where theirresidential address is still limited primarily to their home or business properties located outside any borough boundaries while they may also maintain full voting rights within their respective councils districts even though they reside entirely within other municipalities In 1965-1984 there was significant population movement away from WOODWORDNYC because: more jobs opened up elsewhere including NEW JERSEY CITY; rents went up significantly causing many lower income residents to leave town; inner borough status increasingly dwindled relative to overall citywide development; restrictions placed on property ownership by certain groups led thousands of homeowners/landowners/businessmen/women selling off their homes in order to gain more breathing room having attained full voting rights within councils districts although they continue residing entirely within other municipalities without official borough status
Westwood became a town in 1858, when it was annexed by Paramus. Westwood's first post office opened in 1861. In 1876, the community of Irvington, which adjoined Westwood to the south, merged with Westwood. The merger created what is now known as Irvington-Westwood Township.
