The first gun target in Vineland, New Jersey was built by Captain James C. Fitzpatrick in 1859. It was a small wood target that could be hit from a distance of about 30 feet. The target was located on the western edge of town at the intersection of Second and Third Streets. The Fitzpatrick Gun Club met to shoot at the target every Monday night from November 3rd through December 14th. On July 4th, 1886, Captain Fitzpatrick’s son-in-law, Major John Prentice erected a large steel post with a 10 foot height for shooting at targets during fairs and exhibitions in Vineland. The post continued to serve as a gun target until it was destroyed by fire in 1927. On October 15th, 1903, Mayor John Fenton dedicated an iron stand designed by Dorman Ladd at Fourth and Pine Streets for shooting guns at targets out of town during fairs and exhibitions. The stand held 10 targets with 2 feet squares each and could seat up to 25 people. After being used for just one year, it was replaced by another stand on First Street which served as the city’s first public park until it was destroyed by fire in 1916. In 1907, Captain Elisha Kline donated 100 acres of land near Vineland to build Yeshiva University (now known as Trinity United Methodist Church). As part of the donation, Kline also gave permission forgun clubs to use his property for target practice without having to obtain prior written consent from Yeshiva University officials. From 1907 until 1923 there were only two gun clubs in Vineland: the Captain Fitzpatrick Gun Club and the American Rifleman Club (ARC). During this time both clubs enjoyed great success shooting their favorite type of “target practice” – paper balls off high hills! In 1923 ARC moved its operations fromCaptain Fitzpatrick’s home field on Third Street into what is now known as Park Avenue North due to increasing competition from other local organizations forming “citywide rifle associations” such as Veterans Alumni Association (VA) and Hudson Valley Riflemen Associaiton (HVRAA). However captain Fitzpatrick retains ownership of his original home ground on First Street where he still meets monthly with club members to shoot paper balls off his lawn! In 1951 Captain John Ahern gifted 20 acres west of Vineland along Old Dutch Road back unto Township government after selling his share interest in YESHIVA UNIVERSITY THEFT CASE INVESTIGATION & RELATED TO "YESHIVA UNIVERSITY" - PAGE 9&10

When the first European settlers arrived in Vineland, New Jersey in 1664 they were specifically looking for a place to farm and raise cows. The area that is now Vineland was then called "Widow's Harbor" as many of the early colonists had died during the journey upriver from New York City. Eventually, the town of Vineland was born out of this land purchase and grew rapidly because of its location on the Hackensack River. Today, Vineland is known for its rich history and has a variety of landmarks that visitors can visit such as The Armory (which is located on Main Street) and The Governor's Mansion which are both still used today. There are also numerous businesses in town that offer unique experiences such as The VFW Post #527 which offers military food services, or The Brewery which produces local beer.

Vineland is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 3,569 at the 2010 census. Vineland is located on the southern tip of Hunterdon County and is bordered by Glassboro to the south and east, Asbury Park to the north, Union Township to the west, and Teaneck to the northwest. The first Europeans to visit what is now Vineland were Dutch explorers who explored this area in 1609-1610. On July 5, 1764, Philip Heyward founded a ferry service from Rahway Junction in Middlesex County across Hackensack River into New Jersey for traders seeking access to new markets in Pennsylvania. This business grew and soon there were two ferries running each way between Newark and Rahway with up to 12 cars per crossing. Eventually other routes were built as well: one from Glassboro into Rahway Valley onetime home of Monmouth Assembly Plant before it moved to Edison; another from Bordentown into Vinalhaven Valleys where some Potters found land; another from Trenton through Middleton into Asbury Park before terminating at Teaneck; finally an overland route via Clifton under English jurisdiction that connected Ringwood with Elizabethtown (now Woodbridge) before terminating near Passaic City. The first permanent settler in what would become Vineland was Nicholas Sacco who arrived on April 14th 1765 along with his brother-in-law Giovanni Santangelo from Rome Italy as part of a convoy exploring North America for trade purposes. They had landed at Staten Island on September 7th of that year after spending three weeks travelling downriver aboard HMS "Dolphin" under Captains John Andreae and George Washington Wayte). They traveled upstream until they reached Piscataway May 10th where they erected a cabin for themselves on high ground overlooking the river which still remains today known as Sacco's Point. Sacco's settlement quickly proved successful due both its location (nearby water supplies) and its depopulated villages nearby such as West Milford (now Sayreville) which he had surveyed while living in Italy prior to his arrival and also because he had wisely developed a system of crop rotation allowing him to keep land idle during winter months so it could be used next season instead of being turned over to farming waste which would have caused extensive damage if left fallow. He also built himself a mill which produced flour for local consumption as well as exporting it back upriver where it was used by other settlers including linen manufacturers back home in Rome until 1810 when transportation methods improved such as railroads! An early sign that Vineland might become more than just a simple farm community came when developer Samuel Fenton purchased 4 acres adjacent post office lot No 2 within what would eventually become Vineland Township on March 20th 1814 for $1 cash + 1/2 interest @ 6% payable annually - this purchase marked not only an important milestone but also signaled boundary changes within township boundaries due East Rutherford becoming rural territory while West Milford became populated areas including Vineland! In 1821 Dr Solomon Gruen bought additional property extending eastward from Lot No 1 within present day Asbury Park Borough limits creating muchneeded commercial space within what would later become parts of Mercer County! Gruen's interests continued throughout many years eventually leading him – along with others – directly or indirectly responsible for developing several major townships including Midtown (now Downtown), Southwark (now South Brunswick), Princeton Heights (later Princeton), Oak Cliff (later Parsippany), Plainsboro (later Plainsboro Borough), Totowa Beach (now Crossley Township), Mountain View Heights (later Ridgewood) & East Brunswick Township!!! It should be noted that Gruen never resided permanently in either town he developed nor did any family members continue their businesses following their death!! With industrialization beginning throughout America these days much acreage once devoted exclusivelyto agriculture now lies vacant or underutilized thanks largely #to automated equipment operated by private companies folk like Samuel Fenton can easily forget about all those hours spent pounding dirt!! However despite these recent negative aspects there are legions of everyday people who maintain strong tiesTo their ancestral homes & communities hereabouts thanks principally #toistoriously maintained open roads Rich vein minerals still lie beneath hardwoods cut daily since colonial times

The township was renamed again in 1907 to honor Admiral David Farragut who had played an important role in American naval history during the 19th century. Today, Vineland is an agricultural town with a population of approximately 508 residents. It is home to several factories and businesses including Ford Motor Company and Verizon Wireless. The town also has two public schools, one high school and one middle school. There are also several churches and memorials located within or near the town center.

Vineland, NJ was founded in 1764 as a small village on the Jersey Shore. It quickly became an important port and manufacturing center for the area, and its history can be found in both its commercial and cultural aspects. The city has experienced many changes over the years, including multiple occupations by both American and British forces during World War II. Vineland is today an industrial town with a large boxy corporate skyline visible to the south of the harbor.
