Tinton Falls, New Jersey is a town located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 19,812 at the 2010 census. The first firearms sighting in Tinton Falls occurred on October 1, 1795 when James McAfee and some friends were shooting at rabbits near the creek. They hit one of the rabbits with a rifle and soon realized that they had made an mistake as they only had shotguns at the time. As they looked around for someone to help them with their weapon, they noticed a man walking down the street with a large knife in his hand. They immediately ran towards him to ask for help but he had already disappeared into an alleyway behind the building where he lived. This event is often cited as the beginning of gun ownership in Tinton Falls. In 1834, John Crouse established himself in Tinton Falls by purchasing 1/2 acre (0.24 km²) of land from Hugh Peake on which he built his home known today as Crouse House. At this time gun sales were not common due to passengers being refused boarding without pistols or rifles on board shipmates’ vessels traveling through Passaic Bay waters during this time period. In 1835-36 captain David Dixon discovered oil off Sandy Hook Island and began selling subscriptions for shares of oil leases from individuals who resided within convenient distance of shoreline exploration sites including those near Tinton Falls and Princeton Junction NJ In 1838 Capt Dixon met proprietor Robert Ducharme who offered him 3 acres (1 ha) adjacent to present day Main Street for $2 per year plus natural gas privileges In 1840density increased rapidly due both to discovery - many people living along shoreline now owned slaves - applications for patents became necessary & granted early 1840s By 1850 2 lots included in Grant #5 & lot number 6 designation above belonged to Hosea Stout & family (now part of East Brunswick Township) – grantees changed name 3 times during grant tenure (& property boundaries shifted several times) That same year Captain Dixon sold Lots 7-10 adjoining Grants 5 & 6 resulting in present-day Borough of East Brunswick

Tinton Falls is a small town located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,783 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden-Wilmington, NJ-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area that now makes up Tinton Falls was first settled by English colonists in 1681 as a part of what is now Hunterdon County. At that time, the land included all of modern-day Hunterdon and Morris counties as well as some parts of Burlington Township and Middlesex Township. In 1764, the proprietors of an estate in Tinton Falls granted 1/2 acre (0.08 km²) to each settler who arrived there between June 3 and September 3 for his or her lifetime, with no prospect of renewal. This privilege was extended to married couples and single men over 25 years old when they received two acres (1 ha). In 1814, John Elder purchased from the proprietors 8 acres (3 ha) on the south side of Rte 1 which became known as Elder's Hill after him. The first store opened in 1815 on this site and continued until 1865 when it closed due to lack of customers. In 1832, Benjamin Fenton built a mill at Rte 9 above present-day Tinton Falls Boulevard; this mill still operates today but ceased operations in 1991 due to damage sustained during Hurricane Agnes. During World War II many soldiers from Tinton Falls served in various units including the U S Army Air Forces Ninth Air Force Group stationed at nearby Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton Airport; these soldiers are buried at Elmira National Cemetery #1 near Ithaca NY along with other members of Ninth AF Unit 569519g which flew supplies into Japan during 1945 A post office called "Tinton" was established here on October 12, 1836; it changed its name to "Tinton Falls" on November 15th same year because mail arriving from Newark via Egg Harbor City had been stopped there since 1840 because Post Office Depot #2 could not be built close enough to handle the increased traffic caused by opening up New Jersey fringes westward beyond Trenton . The first store -owned & operated by John Elder - reopened November 15th 1840!

Tinton Falls, New Jersey is a small town in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hackensack metropolitan area. Tinton Falls was founded by English colonists in 1764 as a frontier settlement on the lower Raritan River. The town was named for Colonel John Tinton (1724-1789), who served as commander of British forces in North America during the American Revolutionary War and later became an American hero. The townsite that now makes up Tinton Falls was first settled by farmers from Essex County, NJ in 1764. By 1800, the community had a total of twelve stores and ninety-eight residents. In 1802, settlers removed to what is now known as West Orange because of bad water quality near their original location. By 1810, there were only three store buildings remaining and about sixty residents living along the river bank east of Main Street. In 1814–1815, Colonel John Tinton's Expedition against Native Americans resulted in many casualties and destroyed much equipment along the route that led from Newark to Fort George on Long Island Sound carrying munitions for General Howe's war effort against Great Britain. As a result of this event and other events throughout 19th century America involving military engagements with Native Americans west of Canada – including skirmishes at Monmouth Junction (then called Monmouth) Lake on October 14th 1800 between British colonial forces under Major General Jeffrey Amherst and Mohawk warriors led by Chief Joseph Brant – Colonel John TINTON's name came to be associated with what is now known as "Tinton Falls". In 1828–1829 local merchants formed an association with other merchants in Passaic County to promote trade through shared services such as wagonning materials downriver to Hackensack for manufacturing purposes; this group became known as "The Mechanics' Association" or "The Merchants'. On September 9th 1830 they erected a fivetiered loggia which still stands today [at]. This unique structure served as their meeting hall until it burned down on October 12th 1840 due to weather conditions related to Hurricane Sandy which ravaged New York City during those days." On July 10th 1830 several families consisting primarily of Quakers left Princeton Township for what would become Tinton Falls after some disagreement over religion within one family about where they should settle next: most likely based upon differences over land ownership within Princeton Township specifically around Bound Brook Creek although other families may have also left there too if disagreements arose among them about religious affiliation According To The History Of Trenton Township pg 108 “For two years previous Plainfield had been restless because it did not share equally in profits generated by others; but when these people opened their eyes to see how things were going at home they realized that they could not do anything themselves without assistance from others so they decided that it would be best if they all moved away together into some new place where we could all work side by side” After staying overnight at Plainfield home village before moving early Wednesday morning towards Bound Brook creek via footpaths available then continuing downstream Glimmerglass
