Tinton Falls is a small town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. Tinton Falls is the only incorporated municipality in Hunterdon County. The boroughs of Easton and Township were merged into Tinton Falls in 1997. The first settlers to Tinton Falls were farmers who arrived in 1814. They named their community after John Tinton, an Englishman who had settled near Trenton in 1784. Over time, other families moved to the area and the name changed to its present form: TINTON FALLS on February 14, 1897 by an act of the Borough Council. In 1862, William Fenton built a sawmill on what are now Main Street and Wharf Road. It was among the earliest mills located within Monmouth County and remains one ofMonmouth's most important economic engines today as it has been responsible for production of lumber since 1855. In 1865, Frederick Alder bought the mill from Fenton and renamed it "Alderman & Sons". During World War II it produced munitions for General Motors Corporation (GMC) which caused some damage during bombing raids over North America by U-boat tanks in 1944-1945; but no loss was suffered at the mill because GMC had already evacuated its manufacturing plants before any damage could be done. In 1951, Alderman & Sons merged with Wurtsmith Machine Works to form Wurtsmith-Alderman Machine Company (later Wurtsmith). That company developed many early machines used throughout American industry including those that became known as "Waltzers" – large rollers that do much of today's printing presses - and "Wedge blades" – sharp edges around blades that cut through fabric like scissors without leaving cuts behind - products that became ubiquitous across America during both world wars years leading up to them! In 1966, Google Inc.) leased land north of the mill site from Wurtsmith-AldermanMachine Company for its first major office campus project which would become known as Googleplex™ . At this timeGoogle also purchased old Alderman & Sons machinery whicholescent engineers converted into three large Processing Centers® each able to accommodate up to 200 employees working together – becoming one ofthe largest engineering complexes ever built!
