Ammunition has been a part of people's lives since the beginning of time. Ammunition manufacturing and distribution have been a key factor in the development of civilization, and Tenafly is home to one of New Jersey's oldest ammunition factories. The history of Tenafly Ammunition began with two brothers, Abram and Solomon Demarest, who opened their first store in 1847 on Market Street. In 1869, Abram Demarest passed away, but his son Solomon continued the business until his death in 1925. At that point, the business was transferred to his brother-in-law Amos French's family. The French family ran the factory for over fifty years until it came into ownership by Ives Armory Corporation in 1978. Ives Armory Corporation was founded by Adolph Ives in 1918 as an armaments company based in Camden County, New Jersey. Ives turned its attention to munitions production after World War I when he became aware of the need for more artillery munitions due to increasing belligerent powers and military efforts abroad. After signing a contract with Alcan Company (later Pembroke Arms) to produce 65 million rounds of ammunition per month during World War II, Ives Armament became one of America's leading manufacturers of firearms and artillery ammunition. In 1979, IvesArmament merged with Colt Firearms Incorporated (now Colt Defense LLC) to form Colt Industries Incorporated (now ColtParms). Under this merger, Tensafly Ammunition Manufacturing Company was created as a joint venture between Colt Industries and ATK Ammo Company (later American Tactical Technology). Since then, Tensafly Ammo has beamed high quality ammunition products from our facility at 701 Main Street in Tenafly Township into every corner of America!

Shotgun-fed shotshells are fired using the bird’s head principle where the shot case falls out of the shotgun and goes in front of the breech face where it is extracted by another round in the magazine and then fed back into the shotgun with anotherpellet or BB. Belt-fed Shotshell: This type of shotshell consists of rounds that are fed from a single cartridge case which rests on either side of the shooter's waistband. The rounds will fall out of this case when you pull the trigger and feed them back in to fire again later on down range
As ammunition has evolved and become more popular, Tenafly, New Jersey has seen a proliferation of both small arms ammunition and shotgun rounds. Ammunition stores have been established throughout the town since the early 1800s, with some still in business today. The first shot fired in what is now Tenafly was an 8-shot revolver bullet that shattered a window on Prospect Street on November 3, 1814. At the time, this was one of the most notorious shootings in the area as it left two men dead and several others injured. On May 14, 1875, a large quantity of shotgun rounds were sold at auction for $1,500 by J.M. Holland & Son who operated a store at 9th and Market Streets in Tenafly. This event was also significant as it marked the first time shotguns had been legally allowed to be possessed in New Jersey. During World War II, ammunition manufacturers produced munitions such as incendiary shells to help raged across Europe during The Holocaust; however none were manufactured in Tenafly until after The war ended. In 1952Tenafly’s only Armoury closed its doors when ammo shipments stopped from overseas due to quotas set by the US government
Tenafly is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. The name of the town was derived from Tenafly Creek and its surrounding area. The first settlements in what is now Tenafly were established by Dutch colonists on a farm known as "Hertogenbosch" (now part of Hackensack). In 1681, the British took possession of this land from the Dutch and renamed it after themselves, Great Britain's new colony in North America. In 1757, an act of Congress designated the entire township of Hunterdon east of Rahway as part of New Jersey for settlers who could not live west of Rahway because their lands there were too valuable for development. The first settler in Tenafly was Isaac Watts; he arrived in 1761 and began to build a cabin on what is now SR 615 south-west of town. In 1814, John Rarick erected a sawmill on what is now CR 827 west-northwest of Tenafly. By 1820, there were three mills active in the township: one by John Whiteacre (later Whiteacre & Co.), one by Alexander Baird and another by James Kappeler & Sons. The last mill closed down around 1850 due to low demand from local villagers for flour products generated by other mills within ten miles (16 km) of Tenafly headquarters. Tenafly Township reached its peak population size with 2,868 residents during the 2000 Census when almost all residents lived within two miles (3 km) or lessof each other - well beyond either central NJ or PA borders at that time. However since then population growth has slowed markedly as many people have moved away to larger townships or cities within commuting distance including Paterson and Newark which have much greater populations than Tenafly itself

The first gunshot using percussion caps was fired on April 14, 1812, by Captain James K. Polk during the Battle of Fort Sumter.
Tenafly is a small town located in Morris County, New Jersey. It was founded in 1813 by Dutch farmers who came to the area from upstate New York. The town quickly grew, and by 1845 it had a population of 1,200. Tenafly was incorporated as a borough in 1868 and became an official city on January 1, 2009. The economy of Tenafly is based primarily on agriculture and retail services.
Tenafly, New Jersey was founded on October 24, 1795 by Captain George Washington and his men. The town was named for the Tenafly River which served as its main water supply. The first post office in Tenafly was established on December 2, 1795. By 1800, the population of Tenafly had grown to 10 people. In 1814, the town became a stop on the Great Atlantic and Pacific Railroad. In 1824, the township became part of Middlesex County. On January 1, 1860, Tenafly Township became a borough within Middlesex County after being granted city status by an act of Congress. On February 16, 1886, Tenafly Borough ceased to exist when it merged with Newton Township to form Newton-Tenafly Township. On April 14th of that year residents of Newton-Tenafly Township voted to become a city under the name "Newton". This change took effect on July 1st and made Newton the only municipality in New Jersey with city status without having previously been a township or rural area. On March 3rd of 1898 it was reported that all but two families living within City Limits were moving out due to lack of space in what was then called Edison Park which is now known as Center City. However many new families moved into Edison Park during this time frame including many from Newark who had difficulty finding affordable housing elsewhere intown following their relocation from working class neighborhoods outside of Newark during the late 1800s and early 1900s
