Summit is a borough in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,723 at the 2010 census. Summit's economy is based on its agricultural businesses and its location as the county seat of Mercer County. The name " Summits" comes from the ridge that rises above the town. The first settler in what became Summit was John Dickinson who arrived in 1780. He named his land after Mount Washington in Virginia. The second settler was James Calkins who arrived in 1788 and named his tract of land for George Washington which he had seen while visiting Philadelphia to purchase goods for his army during the Revolutionary War. The stream that now forms Summit Avenue ran through what is now part of Summit Township until it was dammed by Morrisania Manufacturing Company in 1853 to create Lake Monmouth Park which still contains water from when the pond was created. In 1868, Jonathan Dayton founded Dayton's Furniture store on Main Street between Second and Third Streets which became one of the largest furniture stores in America and remains a major player today with over 100 employees across several stores throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In 1907, Dayton built an addition to his store that still stands today as one of Mercer County’s most recognizable landmarks - The Dayton Building (now known as home of PNC Bank). A fire destroyed much of downtown Revelstoke on November 15th 1923; however, two-thirds of Revelstoke’s business continued operation thanks to local merchants who organized their sales around concerns about fuel availability and lack of insurance outside the city limits caused by national economic conditions at that time. This spirit continues to this day with Vendors Day being celebrated each year on November 15th throughout North Revelstoke Borough with local vendors selling items from inside Municipal Hall starting at 10am sharp! In 1951, Summit Township formed a new government under Governor Thomas Kean with Samuel Ziegler serving as Mayor pro tempore and David Haggerty appointed Deputy Mayor for Planning & Development! With this change came updated zoning regulations which opened up many opportunities for business growth including apartments, shopping centers etc.. In 1984, Summit Township again changed governance when Mayor Constantine Lohr appointed Bob Kapperman Vice President for Housing Services! Kapperman led township officials through some difficult times such as trying to close down numerous unlicensed pharmacies calling them “pill mills” due to their high rates without any real evidence thereof; but they prevailed eventually leading to legislation being passed making prescription drug prescriptions more affordable statewide! In 2002 Union City Branch library opened adjacent to Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church giving residents easy access to religious content without leaving their homes! Today there are over 50 branches scattered throughout New Jersey providing ample opportunity for reading choice!!

Although some American troops did also use binoculars while fighting in Korea and Vietnam, it is generally agreed that American commanders should not have been using Binocular microscopes while on battlefield because it was very dangerous!

Summit was a town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,852 at the 2010 census. The name comes from two ridges of mountains that converge near the town center. Summit is located on both ridges and so its name suggests it would be a good place to stand up to see things from a high vantage point. In 1795, General George Washington led his army through Mercer County during their campaign against the French in what is now Burlington County. At that time, many of the residents of Mercer County resided in or around Summit because it lay on the important road between Philadelphia and Brunswick. In 1814, when Princeton University moved to Princeton Township (now Parsippany), Summit became part of Princeton Township as well. From 1815-1832, Summit had its own post office which served as the center for mail delivery for all of Mercer County save for Bound Brook which received its mail from Trenton via ferriage across Raritan River until 1836 when this service ended with the construction of the Trenton Railroad. By 1870, Summit's population had dwindled to just over 100 people and by 1930 it had shrunken even further to just 25 people; however, by 1950 it had increased to over 150 people and by 2000 it reached its current size with over 200 people living there.[1] The townsite where Summit now stands was first occupied by Native Americans in 1795 following General George Washington's march through Mercer County during his campaign against France. early settlers were Presbyterian missionaries who arrived in 1798 and began farming what is now westbound Route 73 between Mount Hope and Middletown while they built churches throughout much of rural Mercer County[2][3][4]. Settlement continued along Routes 10 eastbound from Mount Hope towards Morristown before terminating at Route 73 northbound at present day Asbury Park Avenue; later these routes became Ulysses S Grant Boulevard (later I-195) [5][6]. By 1800 most settlers were Methodist ministers who brought Methodism into eastern New Jersey[7], with some new families arriving every year due largely to farm subsidies offered through Congressional acts passed in 1800 such as Theaddy Act[8][9]. A small community developed around Union Chapel after Reverend John Newton moved there from Ridgefield Manor soon after he acquired land adjacent to present day Spring Valley Road on November 15th 1800[10] – one week prior to America's Declaration of Independence[11]. By 1802 about fifty households lived within two miles (3 km) of Union Chapel including twentyfive farmers,[12] but despite this progressivism Christianity slowly replaced Indian religion as dominate among early settlers starting around 1830s[13]: Presbyterian missionaries often did not find enough converts amongst Indians living nearby so they abandoned their efforts beginning in 1840s while Methodist missionaries kept trying until they finally succeeded circa 1850: although Baptist missionaries also tried proselytizing amongst natives living closeby beginning circa 1840s but without any success due mainly because indigenous beliefs discouraged converting outsiders rather than letting them know about local goddesses & spirits which might help protect them,[14]: some 300 Creek warriors under Tecumseh fought alongside American forces during Battle of Monmouth on April 12th 1775 helping secure victory for America
The Summit community is located in the Township of Summit, in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The community was founded by English settlers in 1799. The first post office was established in 1802 and the name of the town changed to Summit in 1841.
