Somers Point, New Jersey is a town in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 12,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Garden State metropolitan area. Somers Point is bordered by Neptune Township to the north and east, Elizabeth Township to the south and west, and Middletown Township to the northwest. At that time there were only five guns available for purchase within a three mile radius of where The Pistolero operated. In 1907, "Pistolero's Rifle Shop", which had been open since 1903 also moved into new premises at 209-211 Atlantic Avenue making it one of the first shotgun shops in America In 1912 "The Rifleman" merged with "The Pistolero". That same year saw the opening of "Guns & Ammo" at 301-303 Ocean Avenue becoming one of the earliest gun stores in America In 1916 when World War I began pistol magazines began stocking munitions such as machineguns In 1922 when local paper manufacturer Dutton bought out handgun manufacturer Evershields Gun Company renamed themselves G&A Publications Incorporated

Somers Point is a town in the United States and it was founded on the banks of the Susquehanna River. It is located in Sussex County, New Jersey, about 25 miles southwest of Newark. The population was 14,651 at the 2010 census. Somers Point is part of the Camden–Newark metropolitan area. The town has been around for over 350 years and it originally consisted of three small settlements: North Somers Point, South Somers Point, and West Somers Point. On December 3, 1785, West Somers Point merged with North Somers Point to form one new town known as SomersPoint which had a population of 10 people. In 1838, another merger took place when East Sandy Hook merged with West Somerspoint to form another new town also known as SomersPoint which had a population of 12 people. In 1854, an act was passed by Congress that created Sussex County (then part of New Jersey) from portions of Monmouth and Mercer Counties. This act placed temporary restrictions on white settlement in what would become Somerset County due to concerns about black development being incompatible with white society. The first permanent settler in what would become Somerset County was John Harden who arrived in 1799 from Rhode Island aboard HMS " luxury". Harden set up a farm near present-day Amboy Township and began trading goods with local Native Americans including Potawatomie Indians for goods they produced such as corn and clothingpins. By 1800 he had purchased land comprising what are now parts of Sussex and Middlesex counties from the Lenni Lenape tribe under tribal treaty agreement dated February 6th 1700 AGO/. In 1814 Harden bought 5 acres (2 hectares) at present-day Bridgeport Township from Nicholas Bickford for $2500 dollars cash (#812). The property included access to both tidal rivers and swampy ground that later became houses in today's Bridgeport neighborhood.. In 1830 John Tompkins donated 1 acre (0.40 hectare) at present-day Hopewell Township to be used as a public school campus; this gift remains one of New Jersey's most unusual historical moments because it did not come with any money or other material compensation.. On October 2nd 1830 during Andrew Johnson’s second term as president – after his inauguration ceremony – he signed an executive order #4102 entitled “An Act providing for organization within our state government…the members thereof shall constitute themselves into societies or political communities” into law #2701.. As soon as this order became effective there were invitations sent out all throughout Sussex county inviting men aged 25 years old or older who resided within ½ mile (1 kilometer)of any public school building to join an educational association named “The Society for Promoting Useful Learning at Somerset County Schools” organized under this order #4102! These invitations allowed children living within ½ mile (1 kilometer)of any public school building regardless their race or ethnicity to enroll free in good academic Public Schools run by Society Members! Over time many more schools were established throughout our township giving everyone quality education regardless their ability or interests! Today we still have these schools open today thanks mainly to donations by individuals like you!

The decline of trade along the Delaware River made it difficult for Somers Point to remain an important community during this time period. However, some residents did continue to make life here easier by forming associations such as the Firemen's Society and Ladies' Benevolent Association. In 1861, during American Civil War II, Battle of Sandy Hook took place near Somerset point where United States Marine Corps Private First Class George Washington Dickson died from wounds sustained when he was thrown through a window ontoSecond Lieutenant James Aiken's horse below while rallying troops around Fort Monmouth before being runs off-guard by Confederate General Robert E Lee's cavalry unit moments after surrendering at Appomattox Court House minutes later under cover of darkness - thus becoming one of America’s earliest battlefield casualties (the battle also remains commemorated annually on Patriot Day). On July 1st 1870 Anthony Juscil opened up “The Iron Horse Tavern” which served as both local inn and post office for over fifty years until it closed down due to fire on November 3rd 1972; it had been open since 1865 (). After days long deliberations among all members participating in Borough Council convened pursuant to Section 9-A(b) Of The Municipal Code (and taking into account public hearings held prior thereto), it was finally determined that no new business could be conducted within or contiguous with Borough limits because such conduct would create an incompatible conflict with existing businesses within said boundaries...Fifty five years ago today we stand here surrounded by our past but confident that tomorrow we will face many challenges yet again." There are still remnants from this establishment can be seen today including items like old tables and chairs still used inside!

The Somers Point area was originally settled by Dutch immigrants in the early 17th century. The first English settlers arrived in 1664, and named the settlement after Sir George Somers, a British soldier who had fought in the Spanish-American War. The community flourished until the American Revolution, when it was destroyed by British forces. After the war, many of the original Dutch colonists returned to New Netherland and established new settlements around what is now Somers Point. In 1814, United States General John Forbes explored what is now Staten Island and found evidence of Native Americans living there; this led to U.S. military occupation of New Netherland and development of Fort Amsterdam on Staten Island as a strategic military outpost.
