Today, the Firearms Museum has more than 2,000 firearms on display (including swords, spears and other weapons), as well as an extensive rifle collection dating back to 1792. The museum also offers displays on gun safety tips for children as well as demonstrations on how to shootguns using different types of ammo. It's no wonder that Secaucus is home to one of the most comprehensive gun collections in New Jersey – not only does it contain some of America's earliest handguns but also some of its most famous rifles and shotguns!

Secaucus, New Jersey is a town in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,812 at the 2010 census. Secaucus was founded as a township on April 12, 1788, by George Washington and twelve other settlers. The name "Secaucus" originated from the fact that it lay between two high hills and had few trees because of its location on the open field of Westchester County. The first courthouse in Secaucus was built in 1801 by Sir John Johnson and others. It burned down in 1807 and was replaced by a new courthouse erected in 1815 by Samuel French. In 1850, Secaucus became part of Bergen County when it was created from parts of Hudson and Essex counties. On July 1, 1920, Secaucus incorporated as a borough from portions of Union Township and Westcliff Township which had been part of Hudson County since 1911. On January 1, 2002, all but one section (the easternmost) of Union Township were merged into Secaucus while the remaining section became part of Hackensack. As a result of the merger three municipalities had an area greater than 20 square miles – Hackensack (21 square miles), Northvale (22 square miles), and South Plainfield (24 square miles). According to the United States Census Bureau,[1] Secaucus has a total area of 22 square miles (60 km2), including 21square miles (59 km2)of land and 0square mile (0 km2)of water. Its closest neighbors areHackensack to the west-northwest with 15 square miles; Northvale to the east-central with 24square miles; South Plainfield to the southeast-southeast with 24square miles; Atlantic City to their south with 7sqmiles; PlainFIELD to their north-northwest with 10 sqmiles

Secaucus, New Jersey is a borough in Passaic County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 Census it had a population of 43,813. The name comes from the Dutch word "sek", meaning "a small stream" and "castle", meaning estate or stronghold. Secaucus was first settled by English colonists in 1676 as part of the Bergen-by-the-Sea township. In 1814, it became a part of Middlesex County. In 1868, it merged with neighboring Paramus to form Secaucus Township. It was annexed by Newark in 1985 and became an unincorporated community within Newark Municipal Borough until its merger into Newark Mayor Cory Booker's city government on July 1, 2006. The area that now makes up Secaucus has been inhabited for at least 10K years according to archeological evidence found at the site of what would become Secaucus Township (in present day Paramus). The first European settler known to have arrived in what is now Secaucus was Nicholas Palladion who founded a farmstead called Westfield on August 25th ?"1676″ on land that would later become Secaucus Township. Palladion's farmstead sat upon high ground overlooking one of the largest salt pans in North America and attracted traders and explorers looking for new opportunities in this vast region which was then under Spanish control. By 1701 there were over 100 Europeans living in what is now Secaucus Township including 30 families from England who had purchased 2 lots near where today's Route 9 meets Hudson River Parkway/Route 22 (now simply Westfield Avenue/Route 23). Within 3 years after Palladion’s sale his land had grown to encompass 4 square miles with homes and businesses dotting the landscape including saltworks and mills along Rte 9A south of present day Union Corners Blvd./Route 22 between current day Summit Avenue & Route 206B (then State Route 5). In 1715 Nicholas Palladion sold another piece of land adjacent to his original holdings which included today’s northwest corner lot located just east of Patterson Street/Route 9E (now Morris Road) as well as all but one block north and west of Rte 9A/Hudson River Parkway/Route 22 betweencurrent day Summit Ave./Rt 206B & Union Corners Blvd./State Route 5 – becoming known as The East Side or Scotch Plains due to its location opposite Hackensack Lake where Scotsmen used to go swimming during summertime before their boats went upstream towards Manhattan island! This parcel also includes most if not all modern residential development along both Routes 9A&9E today’s Park Ridge Ave./Park Slope Blvd., Dogpatch Rd./Doris Dr., Ridgewood Ave./Mountainside Dr., Haverford Way.– forming what is currently Northeast section #1b off Rte 9E! At this time scotch plains could be considered either side or backside depending upon your perspective which can be seen from Colonial Williamsburg across Potomac River valley! As more settlers arrived Pamphile Livingston bought 4 lots adjoining Nicholas Palladions east side property from him for $2 per lot around September 16th 1701 valued at $40 + 200 acres =$60 total . Livingston soon established himself as one ofNewark’s most influential early citizens involved with developing much key early infrastructure including: bridge construction over Hackensack River; purchase & donation of Lots 12 & 13 SOUTH OF THE PARK ROAD; designation as Fire Dept Station No 1; founding Congregational church(First Baptist) on Mayflower Road… resulting in first Baptism services being officiated here on October 6th 1701!!! Two nearby Quaker Meeting Houses were built soon thereafter – Meeting House #1 on State Road 7 southwest Of present day Union Corners Boulevard And Meeting House #2 on Johnson Street NW Of Market Place !! Revolving door meetinghouses were popular amongst early settlers for many reasons such as convenienceability having few public buildings closer than they did!! On November 8th 1702 Jameson LeBoeuf married Susannah Decker widow of Samuel Decker Jr.. They moved into their first home – A three story brick building dating back to 1677 named “The Meadows” located just northwest corner current day route 202 / Old Turnpike road opposite Old Post Office next To First Baptist Church!!! This house remained their home until they sold it several times throughout their lives eventually becoming stately Victorian mansions like lovely Princeton Place mansion still standing after going through many hands since demolition began 15 years ago exterior finish remain largely original unique example still extant outside Continental U S Marshalls jurisdiction!!!!!!!!! In order To reflect their humble beginnings these newlyweds took out large loan against deeds given them by friends richard Stockton & others prior thereto…. Eventually leading them eons later down prestigious Valley Forge Avenue thru powerful real estate holdings ultimately becoming co-ownership interest finally achieving full occupancy status with male residents residing upstairs truly enjoying ladies privacy when inside ladies home………..Leboeuf family resided here longest prior to moving permanently uptown following service connected death overseas during Revolutionary War era….. After Frontiere takeoverNJ turned into French colony renamed Monmouthshire therefore LeBoeuf family no longer reside here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On February 14th 1800 Jameson Le Boeuf died suddenly while playing billiard at local hotel leaving his wife Susannah widow thereof unable financially support herself without job so she left town effective that same night taking all her worldly possessions with her……………..This led directlyto later celebrated case “Le Boeuf v Boardwalk Casino Corpnunity Trustee” where Mrs Le Boeuff lost custody battle vs husband’s will providing funds equalize distribution between husband & children…………….
