From the early days of firearms usage to modern-day issues, ammunition has a long and varied history in Sayreville, New Jersey. Ammunition originally consisted of shot, bolts, or other small objects that were used to fire projectiles from guns. However, due to its high cost and limited availability, bannermen only saw limited use before being replaced by rifles such as the Gatling Gun in 1859. The first practical bullet was developed in 1795 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte while working on behalf of French diplomat Charles Bonaparte. This bullet was known as la Fleur de l’Islande (the flower of Hawaii). In 1804 Nicholas-Jacques Conte formed a company called La Douaillerie Frères à canon d'assaut (Douai Guns Manufacturing Company) in order to develop his new projectile. The douailleurs (douajlers/firearms manufacturers) created various types of cannons utilizing this new ammunition including artillery pieces like cannons on horseback and mortars used against ships at sea. His original projectiles were made from lead but after achieving some success with these projectiles he changed them to brass in order improve their efficiency when fired from cannon shells Ammunition continued its growth throughout much of 19th century despite technological advancements; specifically through private companies like Colt & Co who developed rifled rounds beginning around 1860 In 1895 John Browning patented his breechloading revolver which allowed him To produce round bullets at his shop located near Springfield Armory where he also produced shotgun rounds . Sayreville is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 10,500 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to Census Bureau figures for 2000-2010, there are 598 housing units in Sayreville Borough which include 303 apartments and/or condos (the majority were detached), 118 mobile homes and/or recreational vehicles (including 21 military barracks converted into living quarters for civilians), 139 single family homes (of these 144 are owner-occupied) As one goes down Main Street one passes businesses such as: Jewelry store - Tiffany & Co.; Ford dealership - Kaiser Permanente; Clothing store - Sears; Grocery store - Stop 'n Shop; Restaurant - Joe's Pizza; Hardware store - Lowe's Automotive; Glasses store - JCPenney while going up one encounters many more businesses like: tire shop with four locations including two on Route 9A next to each other across from KFC ; Real estate agent - Alpha Landmark Realty On Route 9 north side there are several restaurants that serve local cuisine such as Indian restaurant Kapoor Bazaar serving Bangladeshi food followed by Italian restaurant Ristorante Venezia with a view over Bordentown Bay There are several schools within close walking distance including: Pilgrim Elementary School which serves pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students before they move on to high school; Scotch Plains Middle School which serves ninth through twelve grade students before they head off to college or trade school; Rutgers University Preparatory High School which offers Pre-Kindergarten through eleventh grade students followed by Rutgers University Seton Hall Prepatory High School which offers twelfth through fifteen grade students
