In 1923, the National Firearms Act was passed which regulated firearm possession within the United States. This act also made it illegal to ship unlicensed ammunition across state lines. As a result, many companies ceased manufacturing ammunition in River Edge without being able to export it back into America. Beginning in 1934, Winchester Ammunition Company began producing 7mm Remington ammo commercially in River Edge. At this time, Winchester also became the exclusive manufacturer of shellfire projectiles for firearms outside of the United States market. In 1957, Olympic Arms Corporation merged with Thompson & Wesson Corporation resulting in a new company known as Olympic Arms Industries Incorporated (OAI). OAI continued production of Firearm Ammunition until 1993 when it was sold to BATFE pursuant to regulations from Title II of the Brady Amendments which banned most private handgun sales throughout all 50 US states except Texas!

River Edge, New Jersey is a town located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 14,922 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden-Newark-Haddonfield metropolitan area. River Edge is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the south and east, and by Mount Laurel Township to the north. The name "River Edge" comes from two sources: one originates from an Indian word meaning "the bank of a stream," and another comes from Dutch words meaning "a place where men can go out fishing." In 1681, Samuel de Champlain described what he thought was present day River Edge as follows: "There are four rivers hereabouts which flow into one another; they are called Deers creek, Raritan creek, Hackensack creek and Hackensack river." According to The History of Monmouth County (1890), on April 9th 1775 British General John Burgoyne arrived at this location with his army following his breakout from Trenton after much hard fighting against Patriot forces under George Washington. On that date River Edge became part of British North America. Burgoyne's army constructed Fort Morris on Point Pleasant Beach near what is now known as Delaware Avenue in order to control access to Fresh Kills Harbor on Staten Island. The fort served as a base of operations for months while Burgoyne struggled against Patriot resistance along the entire East Coast before finally surrendering at Saratoga Springs in October 1777. In 1837 General James Howes built a sawmill just west of today's River Edges intersection off Route 70/71 leading downriver into Camden City Limits where it crossed Route 38 and continued downstream into Stroudsburg Township until closed in 1951 due to pollution concerns associated with its use as an oil refinery during World War II. For many years it was erroneously believed that this mill still exists extant approximately 2 miles upstream from its original site according to Google Earth street views taken prior to 2009 when it was first discovered by residents walking their dogs around their neighborhood). As early as 1814 an estate named Westchester had been established about three miles northwest of present day River Edge along present day Routes 3/4A & Jct US 50/711 (later renamed West Chester Avenue) within what is now eastern Camden County limits - portions that would later become River Edge Townships including those located along both banks of Raritan Creek which form today's core village areas including Southport & Westerleigh Village while also included within various portions lying eastwardly adjacent Vineyard Township becoming more broadly Mapleton Borough creating the larger town boundaries we know today - all comprising ultimately Hunterdon County although at no point did anyone claim any land south or west of Rahway Road beyond Boundary Street - such being forever owned by Montague Manor Estate lots situated thereupon originally including grid reference points mentioned hereinabove collectively forming our current communities boundaries despite never having resided therein collectively nor ever having asked for anything more than simply bordering upon them! This event marked an important change for River Edge as it suddenly began seeing more development than farming - something that would continue throughout the 20th century
