The first gun attack in Ringwood took place on December 1st 1875 when two men named John Sink and Alfred Quirk shot and killed a man named James Fenton while he was walking his dog in front of his house. In 1887, an anarchist group called The Loyal Legion used guns to shoot and kill six people inside a grocery store in Ringwood. In 1912, another anarchist group called The Red Sox used guns to shoot and kill four people inside a store in Ringwood. In 1933, members of the Ku Klux Klan shot and killed nine people at a dance hall in Ringwood after getting into an argument with the town's black residents over segregated seating

They started out making pistols but soon turned to rifles and shotguns. In 1907, theRingwood Rifle Company was founded by Benjamin Prentice and his brother John Fenton. It became one of the largest rifle companies in America. The company made both military rifles and target rifles. From 1915 to 1918, the Ringwood Rifle Company produced shells for World War I. After the war, the company resumed production of firearms including ammunition. During this time, it also produced a number of motorcycles which are still popular today!
Ringwood is a town located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 6,598 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Trenton metropolitan area. Ringwood was founded in 1793 by Captain John Ringgold and his wife Sarah Morehead. The first store was built on Main Street in 1801. In 1825, Ringwood became the county seat of Middlesex County and ringwood post office operated from that location until 1889. The original farmsteads were located north of what is now Ringwood Township and south of where present-day Princeton Avenue stands today. On March 3, 1793, Captain John Ringgold deposited a full pardon from George III with Governor Thomas Pemberton at North Bridge on the Raritan River for all those who had participated in the Battle of Masontown during the American Revolution. This event helped to spur development along Route 9W between Princeton and Bound Brook stations (now known as Livingston Avenue). Captain John's grandson Samuel died unmarried in 1819 but his widow Sarah continued to live there with their two children until her death in 1835; when Samuel's son Enoch took over responsibility for her estate and moved into the house next door which he still retains today as an historical landmark known as "The House Next Door." In 1840, when township boundaries were redrawn following Census enumeration results that showed more than one hundred families residing within its limits – including many settled since beforeringwood village formed – ringwood village comprised only a single block bounded by High Street on the east side, Spring Garden Road on the west side, Main Street on its southern border and Livingston Avenue on its northern border (the entire width of which then consisted only of sidewalks). Since Ringside Road also crossed Livingston Avenue directly opposite 'The House Next Door,' most residents within ringwalla village knew just about everyone else within it - regardless of whether they lived anywhere else within Middlesex County or not! Consequently - despite having noagariety itself -virtually everyone enjoyed cross-county socializing & social events even though they resided miles apart! farmer Elijah Archbold ran a millinery shop off Spring Garden Road near Byram Turnpike from about 1800 until about 1850; & soap works started up soon afterwards by Rev G C Fuller (& others) near present day Park Terrace Gatehouse Rd; Both businesses closed around 1870 due to lack local demand for soaps after improvements made to Factory line elsewhere... several residences still remain extant downtown today: Dr J H White's home (built circa 1830), Mrs A B Kappman's home (1840), Mr W Hamer & wife's home (early 1860s), etc… most notable among these latter 2 residences are Dr J H White's building which remains standing (& unchanged since early 1800s!), Mrs A B Kappman's addition which has been preserved intact (& repainted numerous times!), & Park Terrace gatehouse Rd.– once called "America’s best kept secret" because no other property nearby had similar features!

Ringwood is a town in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 4,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ringwood was originally named "Fenwick" after Sir John Fenwick of Brougham Hall in England and it was changed to Ringwood in 1795 because of its location on the border between Sussex and Middlesex counties. The first settlers arrived in what is now Ringwood Township in 1775 and they made their home near Fenwick Manor on the banks of the East Branch Susquehanna River. In 1802, a post office called Fenwick became operational and remained so until 1892. The name change came about because of nearby rings (the original value of which were $1) that still remain today as part of Fenwick's history. In 1837, James Ketchum founded Ketchumville with land he had purchase from Native Americans at the headwaters of the East Branch Susquehanna River. When he died in 1840, his heirs sold all their holdings to George Wickersham who then resold them to John de Forest who also developed Ketchumville into an agricultural community with flour mills, sawmills, gristmills and other businesses that continue to this day. In 1849-1850 Daniel Webster bought 1/2 mile (0 kilometers) east along Rte 24 from de Forest for $5 per acre (0 hectares). He donated it to Ringwood Township as a public parkland bylaw #3 dated 11/10/1849; ringwoodsnow township@gmail.com records show that Webster’s donation has been continuously used as such by Ringwood Township since then! The township was incorporated on February 14th 1870 under section 825a of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes; it may have taken longer than expected due to petitions being sent up several times but on September 3rd 1870 incorporation papers were finalized (# 7055 – “Organizing Act Amendment Bill No 5”). On July 2nd 1880 memberships for both townships were granted by act OF PA 827 & 828 [dated 10/15/80] (& 7057), becoming effective immediately following passage via ballot “ThatWhereas various articles have been brought before us relative thereto; Be it ordained by these present authorities: That said townships be erected within said county aforesaid; And be it further ordered that no meeting or vote shall be held therein respecting any subject matter concerning said townships without written consent from both parties concerned previous thereto” It wasn't until 1886 when finally streetlights were installed and water supplies were established that people started moving into Ringside Park which included parts of what is now Essex County just northwest side thereof including what is now downtown Newark proper adjoining Rte 2 & 3 which are now Borough Avenues! From 1886 until 1933 there seem not even attempts to incorporate neighborhoods within Ringside Park - only ringwood itself was ever annexed onto another municipality! This would change with annexation from Caldwell borough onto Newark proper starting on November 6th 1933 although much remains unknown about Caldwell's annexation process! This particular lackadaisical attitude towards neighborhood incorporation might have something do with local officials' belief that annexing too many villages will create more problems than solutions - something they've yet to prove correct...or wrong 😉 rang woodsnow township@gmail.com
Ringwood is a town in Mercer County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,727 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Ringwood was Nicholas de la Halle who came to America in 1685 and built a cabin on the Hackensack River near what is now Broad Street. In 1701, John Woolridge moved from Ringside Township to Ringwood and set about planting maize and wheat farming there. He also erected a log cabin which still stands today on Park Avenue. In 1868, George Armstrong Crouse purchased 640 acres (253 hectares) of land east of Ringwood from Nicholas de la Halle for $2,000 dollars cash. At the time it was one of the most valuable pieces of real estate in New Jersey because it included a rich vein of coal and minerals dating back to colonial times. Crouse named his new township after himself - Armstrongstown - and began developing it into an early industrial center with sawmills, tanneries and breweries among its first settlers. By 1880,Armstrongstown had a population of 1,500 people and became one of the largest towns in Mercer County by volume terms."
