Ridgefield is a town located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 31,927 at the 2010 census. Ridgefield is one of two towns in Hunterdon County and its sister town, Dumont, are both considered part of the Trenton–on-Hudson metropolitan area. The first Europeans to enter what is now Ridgefield were Dutch settlers in 1624 who named it "Vergenhage", meaning "the place where I found water." During World War II (1939-45), Ridgefield played an important role as a munitions depot for Allied forces fighting in North Africa and Europe. The town was also home to Ulysses S Grant's headquarters while he was commander of American troops stationed in Italy during World War II; many people still remember his visit to Ridgefield when he toured America prior to taking office as president in 1865. After serving as an experimental site for cancer research at Princeton University until 1962, Ridgefield became home to First National Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) before being acquired by Community Services Corporation (CSC) in 1987 and then sold again to JP Morgan Chase subsidiary BofA Merrill Lynch Asset Management Company (BMAMCO) within CSC's Capital Markets Division on October 2 that year for $40 million cash plus three parcels of land comprising . On January 1st 2020, CSC merged with JPMorgan Chase & Co., becoming JPMorgan Chase & Co., Incorporated which included all former Delaware-based subsidiaries including BofA Merrill Lynch Asset Management Company (BMAMCO). With this merger came increased competition from JPMORGAN CHASE & CO.'s other divisions - such as JPMORGAN CHASE & CO.'s Global Banking Group - which have made acquisitions over time into various businesses across numerous industries including real estate; insurance; financial services; technology; energy; etcetera creating what has come to be known as JPMORGAN CHASE'S APACHE MEETINGS AND TRANSACTIONS LLC or just APACHE LLC for short.. Ridgefield is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 24,925 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden–Wilmington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in Ridgefield were Dutch and English colonists who arrived in 1664. The area now includes the towns of Easton and West Orange and parts of Township Brookside before reaching Ridgefield proper. In 1724, James Smith purchased from the Pequot Indians four square miles (10 km²) of land on what is now Flower Street in Ridgefield Township for £6 3s 4d. This transaction marked the beginning of Ridgefield's agricultural prosperity as Smith developed a large orchard and mill on his property which still operates today. In 1814, Ridgefield became part of Hunterdon County when it was organized from portions of Morris and Monmouth Counties. During its early years, Ridgefield was known primarily for its cheese production; however, it also became a major transportation center with its own branch railroad line to Vineland and Philadelphia. In 1860, during the American Civil War, many residents voted to secede from Hunterdon County to form a new state called “New Jersey” separate from both North America’s Union and the Confederate States of America. This event would later be immortalized by General Robert E Lee when he said that “if there had been only New Jersey within our lines she would have joined us heartily” (Lincoln). During Reconstruction following Reconstruction-era racial violence in America - including some level of slavery/apartheid - Ridgefordians largely welcomed black Americans into their community while maintaining their white identity quo until after World War II when they began increasingly to accept African Americans as full citizens with equal rights under law due to changes brought about by legislation such as The Voting Rights Act Amendments Act (VRA)of 1965 which made voting easier for minority groups such as African Americans through various means including pre-election registration requirements among other measures (such as poll tax laws). Afterward many African American families moved into mixed-race households throughout central NJ due to social mobility opportunities available through public housing developments such as Crown Heights – one example being Harlem Park – which were built specifically for black communities during this time period despite resistance from some local whites who felt that these developments violated traditional values associated with their neighborhood demographic profile thereby undermining support for integration efforts initiated by city officials notwithstanding previous assurances given by these officials regardingIntegration via zoning ordinances rather than racebased discrimination). In 2000 Census data released by Rutgers University's Demographic Research Unit shows that 20% or more people living in any one household earning over $75k have come directly out of Black British migration patterns! Interestingly enough this percentage begins declining rapidly starting around $40k where it plateaued at 10%.
