Ridgefield is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 23,898 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest town in Middlesex County and the third-largest community in New Jersey after Paterson and Newark. Ridgefield is bordered by Monmouth County to the northwest; Atlantic City to the northeast; and Atlantic Highlands to the south. The first European settlers of Ridgefield were Italian immigrants who arrived in 1683. The English name for Ridgefield (from Old English ridgwold) was given to it by Captain John Smith during his 17th century exploration of New England. In 1737, Nicholas D'Angelo bought land from Governor Thomas Putnam for £320 ($640 today). He built a sawmill on what is now Main Street and named it "D'Angelo Mill". The mill operated until 1840 when it was destroyed by a storm. During World War II, Ridgefield became an important military airbase due to its location near Monmouth Junction (now Bridgeport). In 1947, Ridgefield voters passed a referendum authorizing school district consolidation within Middlesex County; this led to the creation of Rowan Township which includes much of present-day Ridgefield as well as parts of Parsippany and Scotch Plains TWPs (then part of Essex County), forming one large school district with 30 schools and nearly 12,000 students. On October 22nd 1957, following passage of legislation authorizing municipal mergers within Middlesex County as part of state government reorganization,[2][3] Rowan Township along with Parsippany Township merged into Maple Shade Township forming one large municipality with over 50 municipalities including Ridgefield Borough as its borough center.[4] On December 12th 1959 – just two days before Christmas – residents voted 4-1 in favor of annexing neighboring Parsippany Twp., portions of Scotch Plains Twp., Montvale Twp., East Brunswick Twp., West Brunswick Twp., Passaic Twps., Edison Plains TWP., Haddon Heights TWP., Caldwell Park TWP.– making up all but 1/2 mile (800 feet)of present-day Ridgefeld[5][6][7]. This annexation created what are now North Bergen Boroughs while leaving present day Mount Laurel Borough unincorporated because that township spans more than 2 miles (3 kilometers) westward from ridgeFIELD's borders! Ida Bancroft Park opened up on September 14th 1954 adjacent to present day Our Lady Of Mercy School #1 which served students from Addison Avenue through Sayre Avenue until 1975 when that building closed down due to financial issues[8][9]. Thereafter Ida Bancroft Park serving students from Allendale Avenue through Sunrise Boulevard has been open every day except Sundays since then!

This gave it an advantage over other pistols because it could easily hit targets far away from where you were shooting it while also allowing you to target specific areas on your opponent without having them know where you are going to hit them next. Clouet’s Pistolet de Bute became very popular after its release because it allowed people who couldn’t afford expensive handguns or rifles to purchase these pistols instead without having any problems hitting targets far away from them while still being able to kill their targets quickly with single shots or even quick bursts if need be

Around AD 1000, Muslims arrived from Persia through sea voyages and founded an encampment on what is now Mount Desert Island called Ridwan Kaitabakht or "Kiteeba." In 1124 AD Ghazi ibn al-Walid invaded North Africa and destroyed much of this region including Ridwan Kaitabakht; however he did not reach the island where ridgefield now stands because he crossed over to nearby Monmouthshire instead. By 1275 AD another Muslim group settled here: Fatima Makhzumiya (died before 1300). She had married Sa'id alMulk I of Persia who had moved there from Baghdad after being expelled from Baghdad by Saladin during the 1190–1191 Crusade against Islam; they had three children together - Ishaq (Ishaq Ibn Ahmad), Hasan (Hasan Ibn Hazm) and Ruknuddin (Ruknuddin bin Mahmud)). One account says that Fatima met her husband while fleeing persecution in Baghdad when she was captured by Kurdish rebels; however others say that she fled Baghdad after her father died due to plague pandemic then reigning thereabouts which killed many people including many prominent Shi'ites; some sources claim that her husband took refuge with Shi'ite leader Sayyid Ali Khamenei on Mount Mountain outside Damascus until Hassan reached Damascus to take control of Syria overruling him; after Hassan’s death at Ain Jalut in 1290 his son Hasan succeeded him becoming caliphal Imam Shia Islamic scholar also known as Imam Hussein or Husayn ibn Ali according to Sunni sources whereas Shiite sources identify him only with Husayn ibn Ali although some claims he also gained power as Caliph before dying naturalistically several years later ie martyred). It should be noted here that though Huseyniyanis were Shi’ites they did not follow Husayn ibn Ali himself directly as historical records suggest otherwise-. So given all these factors it can be argued either way whether or not Fatima actually landed on ridgewood beach etc... Although residents still refer to themselves as 'Ridgefields', most have migrated elsewhere since World War II so no longer live among their predecessors/ancestors direct... The first mention of ridge field comes down to us via oral tradition passed down through generations of fishermen who used to set up their nets off ridgewood beach back when it was tidal marshland full of small islands surrounded by high bluffocks which made for perfect boating grounds providing good fishing spotters could always see where fish were spawning due processual tides moving water around along shorelines creating ripples making sounds like crashing waves hence name ridgewood bay which means both land rising & falling & sound waves created
Ridgefield Township was established in 1814 and originally encompassed the present-day town of Ridgefield, as well as portions of the towns of West Orange and East Orange. The township was dissolved in 1868 and its lands divided among the other townships in Sussex County.
