However, production ceased after the war because most people preferred head covering items such as face masks or helmets while engaging in combat activity outside of home country(s). Ridgefield Park is a small town located in the township of Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 11,711 at the 2010 census. Ridgefield Park is part of the New York City metropolitan area and is bordered by Atlantic Avenue to the south and east, East Meadow Drive to the north, and Livingston Avenue to the west. The first people in Ridgefield Park were Dutch settlers who arrived in 1664. Ridgefield Grove was established in 1714 and was renamed for Colonel James Ridge (1675-1745), an early settler of Princeton Township. In 1812, a grant of land near what is now Route 9 was made to General Nicholas Hackensack for his services during the War of 1812. The house where Hackensack lived from 1815 until his death in 1827 still stands on Richards Road near present day Spring Lake Drive. In 1861, when New Jersey became a state, Ridgefield Park became part of Monmouth Borough; it remained an independent town until 1959 when it merged into Monmouth County. On November 5, 1906, as part of Roosevelt's idea for creating new national parks within individual states along with other reforms known as "New Deal", Ridgefield Park was designated as one of sixteen national parks by President Franklin D. Roosevelt under His Executive Order No., 7102 dated December 3, 1906. In 1911 Alfred Ewing purchased 4 acres (1 ha) southeast corner lot on which he erected a small bungalow later known as "Ewing Manor." He kept this home through World War II and into its following years until his death in 1954; his wife continued to live there until her own death in 1984). Mrs. Ewing's granddaughter Dawn Ewing Sullivan took over ownership after her mother's death in 1988 and continue to use it as their primary residence today (Dawn also resides partially or fully at 1308 Richards Rd.).

Ridgefield Park is a borough in Hudson County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 26,521. The borough was formed on April 1, 1924 from portions of Ridgefield Township. It is named after Ridgefield Creek and Ridgefield Heights neighborhood in Manhattan. The ridgefield in its name refers to the high ground near where the borough's center is located and to the ridges that run parallel to the creek. The first people who lived in what would become Ridgefield Park were Native Americans who hunted and fished in this area for centuries before settling hereabouts around 1800. European settlement began with Dutch settlers coming by way of Killingly Ferry in 1664 and then moving upriver until they obtained land grants from King George III in 1732. In 1814, General James Wilkinson built his estate at Meadowlands on the east side of Princeton Lake as one of several hundred wealthy New Yorkers who came to settle during the Federalist Revolution. In 1825, when Morrisania (now part of East Brunswick) was established as a township within Princeton Township less than two miles away, Ridgefield became an enclave within Morrisania and remained so until it became an independent borough on April 1, 1924. When Ridgefield Park was created as an enclave within Morrisania, no one living there knew about it or even knew that it existed; all they did know was that they could go to Meadowlands whenever they wanted without having to worry about getting lost or being late for their appointment with Mayor Abraham Hirschman. That may have been true back then but now things are different: everyone knows about Ridgefield Park and its unique history! Even today some residents choose to travel outside of their Borough limits just so they can see everything that has made RidgeFIELD PARK such a popular place to live, work and play – including some amazing examples of Dutch architecture like “The Hague” home which still stands today (opened for tours last year!), AND “Hudson’s Crossing” which spans over 4 acres (including 3 grassy hills) stretching from Oneonta northward along Route 9W into Elizabethtown before turning inland again onto Stillwater Road NE – making it one of only a few remaining villages-style communities left in North America! Yes…it really IS like living out your childhood dream come true!
