Pompton Lakes, New Jersey is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 15,569 at the 2010 census. Pompton Lakes is part of the Camden–Newark–Rahway, NJ-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Pompton Lakes was founded in 1826 by John H. Pompton and his family as a small farming community on the banks of the Hackensack River about northeast of Princeton. In 1853, Pompton Lakes became an incorporated village when it annexed parts of Rahway Township to form its own municipality. The village lost its charter in 1957 and reverted to unincorporated status until it regained its charter in 1988. The history of Pompton Lakes dates back to 1826 when John H. Pompton and his family moved from Newtown Square, Connecticut to what is now known as Pompton Lakes because they were able to find land on which they could build their home without any title deeds or other assurances that they would be able to sell it again in future years. The first settlers were farmers who raised poultry and corn crops along with some livestock and hogs for their own consumption before purchasing more land around them for agriculture over time. They also built up a few shops and stores located near their homes for local trade before turning their attention to developing what is today known as Pompton Lakes into a small farming community that would support itself through crop production only occasionally taxing themselves with taxes levied on others living within their municipality boundaries such as Rahway Township or West Caldwell Township which lay beyond the bounds of what we now know as Pompton Lakes Village (although much of this area remains within Rahway Township). In 1853, following annexation by Rahway Township, residents voted in favor of establishing a village government so that they could better serve themselves rather than paying taxes assessed against them by other municipalities which lay outside their municipal boundaries – something that they had been experiencing regularly since becoming an incorporated village two years earlier. Despite this effort by the villagers, due primarily to factors such as lack of available funding during those early days – including both financial constraints brought about by low commodity prices during World War II followed by increased competition from surrounding municipalities –Village status lapsed after just one year due largely to disagreements between members over regulations put forth by the new governing body (the board) while still undercapitalized relative to its ambitions; lack of development within Village boundaries; high water levels resulting from melting snowpack beneath county lines; and finally budget cuts caused by then Governor Christie's administration subsequent decade-long efforts at centralizing government services across all counties inNJ leading ultimately to reductions throughout many township governments statewide….. Over time however various groups/individuals have made attempts once again at reestablishing Village status through legislation but have failed each time…… [Today] there are no activevillages within our Municipality borders but there are numerous unofficial villages scattered throughout our County…. As we move forward into tomorrow’s economy it will be interesting see if any revived efforts are made at getting approval from our respective Governments for official Village Status………….. The shirt was designed to promote toy guns, and featured an image of three pistols stacked on top of each other with the word "FAMILY FUN" written across the top. The design quickly became associated withGunsmoke TV show producers and its fans, who wore them at conventions and other events. In 1984, American company name Osoz produced their very first firearm t-shirt designs. These shirts featured custom artwork created by artists including Rick Mears and Jay Lynchburg that depicted various firearms including handguns, shotguns, rifles, machineguns and even a cannon! The designs were highly collectible and often sold for large sums of money online at the time. Over the next few years firearm t-shirts continued to be produced by various companies throughout America both domestically and internationally. Many different interpretations of famous firearms such as pistols (e.g., Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers), shotguns (e.g., Winchester Model 1892s), rifle (e.g., Ruger SR9 carbines) or even cannons were included in these shirts over time; alluding to their role as part of varying family traditions or daily lives for countless consumers all over the world! In 1997, two new companies entered into the fray when Hanes started producing firearm related T-shirts under their own brandname "Hanes Gunsmoke." This allowed customers who owned either gun shows or airsoft tournaments where Hanes products could also be used during competition - something which had not been possible before! In addition to creating innovative artwork featuring firearms from all over history, Hanes Gunsmoke employees also made regular appearances on Gunsmoke TV shows wearing their merchandise during segments like " Billet Rifles "and "Action Shots." As firearm popularity continued to grow throughout North America there was no doubt that this unique style would eventually spread worldwide!

Pompton Lakes is a small town in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Pompton Lakes is located on the southern edge of Morris Township and is bordered by the borough of Paramus to the north, Edison to the east, and Hackensack to the south. The first settlement in Pompton Lakes was made on what is now Main Street in 1833. A post office called Pompton Lakes was established in 1836, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. The name "Pompton" comes from an early settler, John Pomptonshire (1787-1874). He bought land near present-day Pompton Lakes from John Brown Sr. In 1824 he built a house on what is now Park Avenue which remains standing today as one of the few original buildings in that area. In 1834 two brothers named George and Albert Smithsett founded a gristmill on present-day Cherry Lane just outside of Pompton Lakes. The mill continued operating for many years until it closed around 1920 due to competition from larger mills coming up around that time. It reopened later as an agricultural supply store before being sold to Kmart Corporation in 1984 and then being demolished in 2000. The site still stands vacant today with some evidence remaining of its milling days including a water wheel still visible nearby
Pompton Lakes was first settled in 1780 by Quakers. In 1808, the town of Pompton Lakes became a part of Bergen County. The township of Pompton Lakes was created in 1925 and became an incorporated municipality in 1957.
