Point Pleasant's origins date back to 1755 when General John Forbes built a fort on the current site of Point Pleasant Township. In 1800, General Howe ordered Captain John Smith to explore this area and make contact with Indian tribes living here so that he could learn their intentions towards him before he invaded Canada; Smith returned with valuable information about these tribes which led to his being given command of an army expedition against them later that year. Although other socioeconomic measures also correlate well with racial identity such as home ownership or access to good public schools , having relatives or friends from one’s ethnic group ensues especially powerful brewings catered mostly towards cultural activities unique unto that group rather than economic opportunities open thereto .
