There is no one answer to this question as the history of shooting target holders in Pine Hill, New Jersey goes back many years. One of the earliest known shooting targets in the borough was a wooden post mounted on a stake off the side of a road near what is now First Avenue and Delaware Street. The target was used for firing practice by local kids during hunting season. Shooting target holders first began appearing on state-owned land in Pine Hill in 1892. That same year, a company named Winchester Brothers purchased an interest in land southeast of present-day First Avenue and Delaware Street and began erecting two wooden targets called “The Pigeon” and “The Fox”. These targets were used for rifle practice by residents who would set them up around their homes or at public fairs. In 1899, Winchester Brothers sold its interest in the property to John Aiken, who erected a three-story frame building on it that became known as The Target Park. From then until 1935, The Target Park was home to one of New Jersey’s most popular outdoor shooting ranges – located just minutes away from every household in town! During World War II (1939-1945), The Target Park served as an important training ground for New Jersey National Guard units stationed at various points throughout our state. In addition, the park hosted numerous exhibitions and competitions featuring both rifles and pistols during that time period. In 1955, The Target Park was donated to Pine Hill Borough by John Aiken III following his death; it remained within the borough until 1984 when it reverted back to ownership by Winchester Brothers Enterprises LLC d/b/a TheTargetParkNJ Incorporated (“Winchester Bros.), also headquartered at TheTargetParkNJ Incorporated premises located adjacent to First Ave./Delaware St., which today serves as home field office for all aspects of municipal governance including law enforcement functions”). As part of efforts to keep things alive inside Municipal Hall these days, there are several exhibits highlighting how different types of Targets have been used over time: photo booth target ( operated intermittently ), slide rule target ( since removed due to weather conditions ), old school air guns - allen keyoperated , modern air guns - pump action only

Pine Hill is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 26,544. It is located on the Eastern Shore of New Jersey and is bordered by Monmouth County to the north, Atlantic COUNTY to the east, and Perth Amboy Township to the south. The borough was formed from parts of portions of Rahway and South Orange townships in 1912. Pine Hill has a history that dates back over 250 years. The first settler in Pine Hill was Jabez Bowen who arrived there in 1799. He built a small cabin on what is now Idlewild Road near present-day Middlebrook Park. In 1827, Stephanus Waddell came to Pine Hill from Rahway and established himself as a farmer there. By 1841, Waddell had plantations at both ends of Idlewild Road – one near present-day Cedar Grove Boulevard and another near Lackawanna Avenue – making him one of New Jersey's most prosperous farmers during that time period. In 1912, part of Rahway Township (then called North Orange) were combined with parts of South Orange Township (then called East Orange) to form what would become Pine Hill Borough Council Chambers Building location between Cedar Grove Boulevard and Park Place Drive today are still used for government functions by Borough Manager/Borough Clerk office along with administrative offices for several departments including parks & recreation services; business licensing; social services; public works; fire prevention/inspection; sewerage/laboratories etc., among others as well as meeting spaces for council meetings which are also open to the community for events such as fundraising dinners or town hall meetings Wherever possible members have made their homes within walking distance either through purchase or rental properties since original construction date many being situated on streets bordering municipality boundaries constituting “Neighborhood Houses” which continue up until this day providing residents with access unique features such as private yards shared by multiple dwellings -Acreage restrictions have been placed hereinto provide aesthetic diversity while remaining affordable

The first target holders were designed by Capt. John J. Higgins of the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1922. His design was a simple, two-piece affair that could be attached to a secure stand or belt loop on the waistband of pants for easy and fast aiming at targets from a distance. Higgins’s design is still in use today with some modifications. The original target holders were made from heavy duty steel and had a rubber grip to prevent slipping while firing.
Pine Hill is a small borough located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 9,854. The name Pine Hill derives from two fieldstones which were erected on the same site in 1793. One stone reads "Pine Hill" while the other stones spell "Newburgh." The first settler in Pine Hill was Nicholas Raymond who arrived in 1764. He and his family built a cabin on a rise overlooking what is now also known as Maiden Lane. In 1775, John D'Angelo purchased land east of present-day Pine Hill from Nicholas Raymond for $2 per acre. D'Angelo had come to America from Italy with his father and decided to settle in what are today eastern Middlesex and Passaic counties. He named his new land Pine Hill after his old home country of Sicily where he had been born some years earlier. During the Revolutionary War, many soldiers from Newburgh served in the Battle of Monmouth Junction near Tinton Falls (now West Orange). On July 15,1776, General George Washington's army fought its way through Newburgh Township and into Passaic County before crossing over the Delaware River at Fort Lee and driving British forces back towards Princetonontown near Bordentown. Nearby on Manor Road stood one of Washington's destroyed camps where more than 2,000 men lay dead or wounded including General Nathanael Greene who later became an American general during World War II: "It [the Battlefield] was so full of human beings that it seemed impossible to clear it; there were skeletons everywhere." Aftermaths included widespread looting by Native Americans which lasted until 1800 when most of these items were removed by order of President James Kepner under orders from then-Vice President Aaron Burr who saw only potential profits to be made dealing with natives: "What could I do but play this game? It would be much more difficult for me if I didn't make some money." In 1802 Pemberton donated alluvial soil around present day Newark Creek to Rutgers University which began developing it into campus land. In 1823 Rutherford donated still more land comprising about one-third of modern day Pine Hill to Rutgers UniversityFIELDS OF NEWBURGH . Shortly thereafter Peter Cooper founded Cooper & Son tavern on Easton Avenue between Broad Street and Haddon Avenue (now part of Easton Village) serving passengers traveling along Pennsylvania Railroad tracks northbound toward Philadelphia while passengers going southbound used Meadowlands Station (later North Penn Station). Cooper died childless leaving behind extensive holdings including tens of millions dollars worth real estate throughout northeastern New Jerseytwenty miles longandthree miles widein additionto numerous farms,. By 1830 almost all property values within Newark Citylimits had changed significantly reflecting – among other factors - increased commercial traffic generated by locomotive travel further north along Route 46 viapresent-day Nutting Road then continuing northeast via Sunrise Highway Extension past Newark Airport until reaching open ground beyond Bound Brook township leading ultimately directly onto Philadelphia city limits! For many families this move permanently established them as permanent residents nearby enjoying access both northerlyviaRoute46accessingPhiladelphiacitylimitswhilesouthwestviaSunriseHighwayExtension participated equallyalbeit provisionallyin Town Hall politics making their homes literally minutes away from their elected officials doing everything they did! Although well known nationally builder Hugh Demarest first came ashore just off Nutting Road adjacent to Sunrise Highway Extension opposite Bound Brook township beginning construction on what would become his famous house soon known simply as “Demarest Place” following purchase/movement several parcels southeast across Sunrise Highway Extension less than three weeks prior !!
