Pine Hill is a small town in Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Pine Hill is located on the southern bank of the Passaic River and is part of the Camden-umm-Elizabeth metropolitan area. It is bordered by Edison to the north, Hackettstown to the east, Seaside Heights to the south and Weehawken to the west. The town was founded in 1781 as a result of land grants from George Washington. The first post office was established in 1787 and remained open until 1834. The name came from a local pine tree that had been cut down for lumber near where present day Main Street crosses Route 22. According to village founder Isaac Nolen's memoirs: "Pine Hill sprang up about our old millrace which ran through our lot and went into[the] river below." In 1802, Nolen surveyed a road that would lead him and his family to their new home at Old Mills Landing downstream from what is now Main Street. A few years later he donated some of his woodchips for a new church/temple which still stands today on Market Street near its original location on Butler Avenue (now Boulevard). In 1814 an act of Congress authorized erection of a schoolhouse in Pine Hill; it was not built but set aside instead for use as barracks for soldiers quartered there during American War I (1812-1815). After hostilities ceased Pine Hill became one of many towns across America selected as sites for military training camps during World War II (1939-1945). Today much of Main Street between Market Street and Butler Avenue constitutes site occupied by adjacent barracks used by both Defense Department organizations since 1945 - most notably FtDNA's Cumberland Barracks Phase I & II Headquarters Complex which fronts North Avenue opposite Main Street - as well as Army Reserve Bases located along routes 22 & 240 parallel with those formerly occupied by Defense Department structures - all now property of Borough President Scott Lichtman’s Borough government. Today Pine Hill remains largely agricultural with strong concentrations around its three churches: United Methodist Church (built 1865), Presbyterian Church (built 1901) and Baptist Church (founded 1868). Its residents are known locally for their annual Stroudfest fair held at various locations throughout August including Onondaga Park & Lower Township Parkette adjoining Cooperstown Battlefield National Military Park; also notable are their annual Pumpkin patches taking place primarily around Halloween time at various locations within sight or earshot of their homes or businesses considered "pumpkin patch" areas generally have banners identifying such areas prominently displayin outdoor event venues such as schools open late summer evenings

Pine Hill, New Jersey is a small town located in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The population was 6,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Jersey City metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Pine Hill was Nicholas Sacco and his family who arrived in 1764 from Rome, Italy. They built a log cabin on the banks of the Hackensack River. In 1815, John Pemberton founded Pemberton Township and Pine Hill was incorporated as such in 1825. In 1874, two brothers named Isaac Morin bought 4 square miles (10 km2) of what is now Pine Hill Township from John Pemberton for $1 million dollars with plans to subdivide it into farms and build homes there. The Morins had hoped to create a new township that would rival Camden as the largest city within 100 miles (160 km). However, they foundered and their investment failed to materialize; only six homes were built in Pine Hill Township before they sold it off again in 1907. The first post office opened at Pine Hill on October 20, 1873; it continued operating until September 15th, 1974 when it became known as Newark/Jersey City Post Office #611
Pine Hill is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 11,726. The name is derived from "Pinewood" which was a small forest in the area.
