Pine Hill is a small town located in Union County, New Jersey, United States. It was founded in 1795 by English settlers as a farming community. The name Pine Hill comes from the Acer rubrum tree which grows nearby. The first gun to be manufactured in the town was an old Revolutionary War musket. This weapon was made by John Armstrong and named after General George Washington. In 1825, Congress passed the Gun Control Act which required all firearms to be registered with the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Authority (NFRTA). This act also prohibited possession of unregistered firearms without a license from the NFRTA. In 1934, Pine Hill became part of New Jersey and its residents were givenirolic rights to bear arms for self-defense purposes only under certain circumstances. These restrictions expired in 1947 when New Jersey became an state of the United States. In 1967, Pine Hill voters passed a referendum seeking to ban handguns altogether within their borders. The referendum failed but it served as a model for other towns throughout New Jersey that followed suit later that year with similar measures aimed at reducing handgun violence. It wasn’t until 1984 that new gun regulation finally took effect in Pine Hill following passage of Assembly Bill No. 3102 by then-Assemblyman Donald Schaefer (D-Union). This bill regulated firearm possession and ownership within the town limits and created stricter regulations on magazine capacity than those currently allowed statewide in New Jersey . As part of this legislation, mandatory safety training for all gun owners was also mandated starting in 1985 .

The area now known as Pine Hill was first settled by English colonists in 1764. In 1814, Governor Andrew Johnson ordered all Native Americans living within twenty miles of Manhattan be removed from their homes and brought to Garden State boundaries where they would live among white people under certain conditions. This order led to many tension-filled years for residents of what is now Jersey City. In 1827, Colonel James O'Brien purchased land in what is now Pine Hill from Patriots leader Nicholas Biddle for $5,000 cash plus horses and tools. O'Brien had wanted to create a new town in southeasternNJ that would rival Newark but found it difficult to get grants from the state government. Eventually he founded a small village on his land which he named "Pinehill." He never lived there himself but his descendants continued to live there until 1955 when they sold their property to Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia who demolished much of it including many of the original houses built during Captain Dunster's time at dunsmoresville NJ . Today only a few foundations remain from this period in history with most likely destroyed by developers or Vandals during Hurricane Sandy . However photos taken before demolition show very different looking homes then today with larger porches and imported Craftsman style architecture
