In that time, Philipsburg saw an increase in the number of businesses that peddled optical products. With an increasing demand for quality equipment, opticians had to find new ways to keep up with innovation in technology. One of the earliest Optical Supply stores in Phillipsburg was opened by Mrs. John A. Komen on Market Street in 1922. At that time, opticians were not using electronic equipment and had to rely on old-fashioned methods such as viewing lenses through a microscope or use a magnifying glass to view items close up. Mrs. Komen's store was successful and she later moved her business to Broad Street where it operated until 1947 when it closed its doors due to increased competition from other businesses within the town center area. The first optician in Phillipsburg was Drilling & Drying Co., which opened its doors on Church Street in 1924. At that time, opticians used oil-based solutions and there was no way for customers to test whether their lenses would work before purchase; this resulted in many failures during early years of the business operation. However, over time, Drilling & Drying Co.'s marketing efforts helped make sure that their products were given high marks by customers and they eventually became one of the most popular opticians within Phillipsburg society In 1928, Frank Mclntyre established his own retail business called "FMC" on Front Street which soon became one of the most popular optic stores within town limits In 1938 Frank Mclntyre passed away leaving his son John C McLntyre Sr., who ran FMC until 1949 when it closed its doors again due to increased competition from other businesses within town limits including a movie theater . After FMC's closure, Mr. McLntyre founded his own business called "Phillipsburgh Optics", which continued operations until 1984 when it too closed its doors because of advancements made in technology

Phillipsburg is a small town in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,653 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton–Hudson metropolitan area. Phillipsburg is located on the southern border of Sussex County and it shares borders with Elizabethtown and Mt. Pleasant to the east, Orange Township to the north, and Riverwest Borough to the west. The first Europeans to come to Phillipsburg were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1664. At that time, Philipsburgh was known as "Willemstad" because of its landedowning class of people. When William Penn founded Pennsylvania in 1776, he named his new state for Phillipus van der Nieuw Amsterdam (1637-1712), one of his predecessors as governor of Holland's West Indies colony where Philadelphia was then situated. Phillipsburg was incorporated as a borough by an act passed by the New Jersey Legislature on November 3, 1868. The borough remained an rural municipality until it became an urban township on April 14, 1951 when it merged with Elizabethtown Township

Phillipsburg is a community located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The population was 2,878 at the 2010 census. It was founded by Captain John Phillips and his family in 1764 as an agricultural town on the west bank of the Hackensack River. The town name derives from Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, where John Phillips had come to trade goods with local farmers. The first school in Phillipsburg opened in 1824. The present day schoolhouse was built in 1875 and replaced a frame building that burned down in 1887. A new library was built in 1984 and dedicated to Mrs. Anna Kappeler (1859-1927). In 1912, Phillipsburg became the site of the world's first running of a marathon race. Phillipsburgh has been home to both American and international cricket teams since the early 1800s. The earliest reference to cricket being played at Phillipsburgh dates back to 1772 when James Smith played against John Woods of Trenton Cricket Club during their game at Broadwalk Park on Long Island. In 1840, Englishman Alfred Beresford set up a team called "The Belgians" which played matches against other clubs throughout New Jersey before finally disbanding after one season due to lack of funding. The first known women players were members of the Ladies Athletic Association (LAA) which formed in 1898 and played its inaugural match against Rutgers University on October 28th that year at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford NJ with Playing Fieldsgirls from Newark playing as guest players
Phillipsburg is a town in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 15,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden-Newark metropolitan area. The first European to visit Phillipsburg was Capt. John Smith on July 24, 1709 and he named it "Newburgh". On November 11, 1714, Nicholas French founded a ferryboat landing called Ferry Landing on the Pocono River in what is now Phillipsburg. French built a small trading post there which served as an important link between Pennsylvania and New York during the early eighteenth century. In 1772, Philipsburg became one of six towns in Monmouth County when it was granted charter by Governor Jameson as a borough with its own government and budget. However, because of its location near Philadelphia (then under British rule), Philipsburg never attained much importance as a town until after independence from Great Britain in 1776. During the Revolutionary War (1775-83), Philipsburg militia were used to fight against Patriot forces invading Pennsylvania from the south. In late September 1778, about seventy-five men from Phillipsburgh formed part of Major General George Washington's army occupying Trenton after their victory over Lord Cornwallis' troops at Princeton Bridgehead. After Battle of Saratoga resulted in British withdrawal from North America, many of these men deserted or were captured by British forces returning home and joined up with their Hessian allies instead; some reached American lines unharmed but most were mustered out or killed in action later that year. After the war ended, Philipsburgh reverted to borough form once again but continued to enjoy municipal rights within Monmouth County until 1838 when they merged with neighboring East Brunswick Township to form new township form called Rutgers Township (now Middlesex Borough). In 1868 Phillipstown opened its first store while adjoining Westrea Heights opened its first schoolhouse that same year; both stores are still open today and operate as independent businesses today known asPhillipsBURG & Westrea HEIGHTS Incorporated which includes both stores under one roof since 1969! In 1908 PhillipsBURG & Westrea HEIGHTS had two churches - First Methodist Church located on Market Street (later renamed Presbyterian Church) while Second Methodist Church located on Middletown Road just outside present day PhillipsBURG boundaries
